VX 8100 or VX 8300?
Ok, I am due for a new phone. Been using my LG VX7000 and it has been great. Really want a speaker phone and Blue Tooth headset. I know the just upgrading to the 8100 would be a step up or should I do the 8300 instead? Waited until but if I wait too long I am afraid the 8100 will be gone. But on the other hand the 8300 will be the newest and best at that time. 😕
Any thoughts people?

Not a hard question there. The 8100 is great, but the 8300 improves some things and is so much lighter and thinner. Why get a phone that is about to be discontinued when you can have the newest? If the price difference was a lot, I could see, but it's not.

Yep I thought it was a no brainer as well. Just need the little extra push. Went to Verizon at lunch. Still don't have it yet! 👿 Heck they don't have the Samsung A930 that's on their web-site yet.
Oh well. I waited this long. A few more weeks is not going to kill me.

I can't believe this question. My first thought that this person is a troll or just pulling our leg.

You know that was not very nice. I have been here quite awhile, but don't post that often. I have been waiting for a new phone for awhile now and was just not sure if the 8300 was going to be it or just go for the 8100 that has a proven track record.

I would go for the gold and get the 8300. It is thinner, lighter, has better sound from what I read and employs newer technology than the 8100.
I think you will like this one very much.
I had the LG VX 7000 for a year and loved the phone but gave it to my daughter when I saw the RAZR. Got the RAZR and I can't stand it and will be selling it as soon as the 8300 comes out in the New York Stores.
LG seems to be the phone maker of choice in my eyes.

why didn't you like the RAZR?
...
Even AFTER the software update:
1. Phone freezes up for no reason and you have to remove the battery to re-set it. This happens to my wife's RAZR also.
2. Can't use a 2.5mm headset jack so all of my good quality headsets are useless and I have not found a blue tooth yet where people don't keep asking me to repeat myself.
3. Poor, poor battery life.
4. If you choose to use a wired USB headset ans happen to have a job like mine where I am in my car and on the phone all the time, you cannot charge it at the same time because the charging port is also the wired headset port.
5. The buttons on the side are too sensitive and in the normal course of handling the phone, the ringer often gets shut off because the buttons get pressed.
Hmm...

In all actuallity I like the 8100 better than the 8300. I like the status lights on mine, and the ability to read text on the outside. I have an extended battery on mine because battery life is just more important to me than "thinner and lighter". If I wanted that I would go with the razr (if it was such a terd of a phone for all the reasons posted in the above post)
