LG VX-8300

The reason so is it's the exact same chip set as the 8100, and that phone is sub-par in the RF dept, this phone can't hold a candle to a phone like the E815 or 325. The damn stub antenna has been LG weak point and will continue to be. The 8100 had an extraordinary amount of bugs upon release and even with all the updates, still has a fluctuating volume issue. It's great they made it thinner, and try to put a positive spin on the awful UI, but I wouldn't buy it, and I think many of you will be disappointed in it when you do. More verizon junk, still a far cry from anything really hot.

i got water damage on my 8100 and i'm about to buy a new phone this week. Should i get the 8300 or a930?! Please give me feedback!!! Thank you!

I am bummed - I spent the whole night playing with the Q and so far the voice quality is so bad, I can't use it for business. People know right away that I changed phones and the voice quality is miserable..

So, I await my 8300 for testing maybe thursday or friday.

I have had such a hard time getting VZW to ship me the 8300 as they dont have it in their Customer service system yet..

It's only online and they cant push the order through..

Hopefully by the weekend..

Is the voice dialing good on it ? Any one play with it yet ? Single command name and dial and or number ?

Anyone know the retail cost of the LG 8300 and is it worth it to pay the extra over the 8100 of 250?

On the info about the phone it doesn't say if it has picture messaging. Does it?

and will the memory card let you save pictures or only music

I did lots of testing with the 8100 against the 950 months ago..

I have to tell you the 8100 did almost everything right.. It was pretty close to perfect..

Here are the problems that bugged us the most -

The Bluetooth Implementation on the 8100 was really bad. What was discovered was in the voice circuit , there was an echo problem so that when people spoke to you and you were on Bluetooth they woudl hear themselves talk back to their own eairpiece. Yes, it happens on every 8100 and yes lots of people dont even know it does it.. It just does. Lots of people on the other end of the phone never complain about bad conversations.

The 950 Bluetooth is near perfect but the 950 has issues too.

So lets hope the 8300 fixes this one.....

i was looking at verizon's website and this phone is avaliable for purchase. $49.99 two year contract and $99.99 one year contract.

I ordered mine to have it here Thursday maybe..

Did anyone get theirs yet and test the voice quality etc ???

I wanted to know if Verizon offers alternative software for this phone or any of their wma only phones for people that aren't using the Verizon music service and want to use the phone with Mp3s only. I doubt it but I figured I would ask. Thanks!

Today I went to the Verizon store and looked at the 8300 (not the real one, but a store demo). The pictures online don't really do it justice. It's a slick looking phone. Also, in the pictures it does not look very much slimmer than the 8100, but when you hold it in your hand the difference is huge. I'm thinking very seriosly about getting one considering I'm eligible to upgrade and I can sell my current VX8100 on ebay and make $30-50 profit 😉

I'm wondering if there are any other LG phones coming out that are worth waiting for. I saw the 8400 but for some reason even though its a higher number it seems to be less advanced than the 8300. I've also heard of the vx8500, but I have no idea what that would be special about it. ...

I use a Wilson external antenna with my Verizon phones to enhance signal reception from within the building where I live. I have an 8300 on order and now I need to order an antenna adapter for this phone. Does anyone happen to know if the adapter port at the base of the antenna on the 8300 is the same size/interface as the 8100/9800 or other LG phone?
