LG 8300...How are the pre-loaded ringtones?

Hi Everyone,

First post for me, I have the LG 6100 and hope to upgrade to the 8300 in a few days. I've seen my co-worker's 8100 and the stock ringtones are pretty much the same as my 6100. I was wondering from those who have the 8300 if the ringtones are the same or are they different? Thanks to all who have posted their reviews.

Actually I haven't even looked at them since you can easily e-mail MP3's and set them as ringtones to have any and all ringers you could posssibly want!

how do you send mp3s to your phone, can you send the whole song or do you have to edit it to where its only 30 seconds and then send it?. also, can you do that with all phones or just this one?

Yes, that's what I was wondering too. I saw the 8300 today in my local store for the first time. As far as I knew and everything I would read on other forums, Verizon blocked the e-mailing of songs to use as ringtones. Maybe you can do this with the 8300? I'd like to be able to do it without cables and Bitpim and adjusting sizes..etc. LOL Anyone who has this phone know for sure?

Yes, you most definatley can. Cut it down to about 30 seconds or so and send it as an attachement in an e-mail to your10digitnumber@vzwpix.com then open the message on your phone, hit options then "save as ringtone". You can do this with the 8300, 950, 815, but not the 8100.

Disclaimer: I just got back from "girls night out" and am a little drunk, but what I say above is correct, but you'll have to excuse me if my spelling/punctuation is a little off tonight. I'm trying really hard, but not sure how it's coming out. 🤭

Mary,
No apologies necessary about the drinking. We've all done it and its your prerogative to be able to have some fun now and then.
I am hoping that this is the week the 8300 comes out in New York.
I can't wait to retire my RAZR.
