HELP! Need unlock code for Siemens S46

I have a customer with a Siemens S46 that is traveling to Australia and needs an unlock code to use an Australian SIM card. She has service through AT&T but tech support would not provide the code, instead suggested EBay for purchase of code! She has already purchased the SIM card for local service in Australia and now has no way to use it.

I know, but....

Hi,

Alright, I know this is a HOT button topic and all, but I must know. 🤭

It looks like I'm about to get into selling wireless service for Cingular (no company prefs just REALLY need a job and they want me). From what I've seen they're one of, if not the only GSM carrier here and everyone else is CDMA (VZW and ALLTEL mostly). I've always found it a damn good selling point if the tech is better behind what I'm selling. So here goes the bombshell question: Which is REALLY better? CDMA or GSM? I'm not talkin in terms of who has better phones or faster data speeds or anything like that. Which is better to call folks on? Most of the people I'll work with are not bells and whistles people, they want a PHONE.

Any i...

GSM Testing

Can anyone help me with testing of GSM phones. If a carrier wants to test GSM part of Worldphone(CDMA/GSM). Is there a test plan or any documnet that i can refer too.
If anyone has the documnet that is used by the OEMs normally to test the GSM handsets ; would be a great help

P.S : I know normally all the tests are carried out by the vendor himself, but if a carrier wants to carry out some specific tests what would those be.?

Worldphone Raoming

Would like to know how the following are implemented in Verizon's Worldphone.

Could help me understand the sequence of steps a user of a world phone has to follow when he/she moves from

CDMA(Verizon network) -> GSM (Vodafone)
Does the user make a call or sends an SMS to intimate the n/w that I am moving form CDMA to GSM ??

Vodafone -> Verizon ()
How would network understand that it has to stop routing calls to the GSM MDN ?

Another point of interest is roaming into Vodfone's roaming partner ,how is this implemented. ?? Another scenario where user is roaming on Vodafones roaming partner but Verizons partner is also available. How does the n/w decide which to choose ??

Can I use the BlackBerry 7510 with my OSx Imac

Can anyone tell me how or if I can use the bb7510 with my Imac. I understand Desktop Manager was designed to work with Windows but is there a third party application that I can use to make it compatible? If not, anyone know if or when the treo 610 will be sold by VZW?

Thanks

Which Service To Get?!?!

I currently am a T-Mobile user. I am extremely unhappy with my service. The phones are horrible. The service isn't the greatest, but bearable. The phones I have used you have to yell into the phone. I haven't got a new service because T-Mobile keeps promising new phones and people have told me that T-Mobile is superior. Is Sprint a better line?! I know that the phones are better. What are some thoughts?!?!

Thanks for your help.

1800 GSM band in Europe

There have been a couple threads that have indicated that the lack of a 900 band phone in Europe can make things quite difficult. However when I check the GSM world maps, the majority of countries seemed to support the 1800 band(France, UK, Italy, Germany, ect.). So why would coverage be difficult? Is the 1800 band newer? Do you think 1800 coverage will grow? Thanks for your help.

Do you know how reliable will the LG L1200 be in Europe (Bulgaria in particular), considering that it is a tri-band 850/1800/1900. What i am concenrned is the missing 900 band. What do you guys think my chances of good signal are?
Thanks in advance for any input!

tri-mode video phone for Verizon

Please advise what the best tri-mode video phone is for a Verizon customer. If one is about to come out than the expected arrival date would be useful.

A nice tutorial on the NEXTEL- iDEN technologies

It gets technical in some parts but pretty understandable even if you don't understand rf and telephone technologies.

860 vs 930

I know the 930 will be able to roam on GSM overseas, any idea about the 860? These to phones seem similar except one is a Smart Phone, and the other is a standard os. Any help on the differences will be great. Thanks 😈

New website, needs feedback, with password to cheaper prices

Basically we have just finally launched our website from Beta to Active.

We are looking for some feedback about what people think about the site. Is it user friendly? Easy to navigate? Easy on the eyes?

Long story short, for your time and efforts you are entitled to cheaper pricing. Where it says "enter group code" type in "website" and you should see a dramatic change in the pricing. Feel free to pass this password around to anyone, as it is exclusive to phonescoop members and will never be invalid.

To send feedback please email me at Shawn@wirelessimports.com
