Adapter to Use House Extentions with Cellphone

🙄

Hey, anyone out there know of a device that will allow me to use my cellphone with my current house extension phones?

I found a plan from Sprint, (I'm in a test market for it), that has UNLIMITED local anytime minutes. I want to cancel my landline and just use my cellphone but I don't want to loose the convience of using my extentions upstairs and down.

How can I do that?, I'm thinking of buying either the Sanyo RL-4920 or the Samsumg 8200.

Would like to send SMS messages from my web site

I have a web site and my users are asking for SMS notices sent to their phones. (For example, when someone replies to one of their posts in the forum, they are notified by phone).

I'm trying to understand the whole SMS model and would appreciate any pointers.

I believe that if my site delivers the message to an SMSC, then the message will in turn be delivered to the user's cell phone.

Who runs these SMSC's? How do they get paid? Do I have to connect to one SMSC to send messages to VZW customers and a different SMSC to send to Sprint customers? Will the SMSC accept messages from just anyone or do I have to pay them a fee first? Can anyone with enough money create their own SMSC (just as anyone can put their own web server on the...

Instant Messanger on Palmone Treo

I am considering purchasing the Palm one Treo 600. One feature I want to be certain that it can do is AOL IM. I do not have an AOL account, but I do have an IM Screen Name, which I would like to be able to use for IM on whatever new phone I purchase. Will I be able to do this on the Treo? If not, any other phone recommendations?

Love the new wave

Just wanted to make a general comment. I love how cell phones are being so integrated and compact. I know some people might not like having all the "unnecessary" bells and whistles but I love it. I was checking out the V3 razr from moto (www.hellomoto.com/us/V3) in a post on these boards and was just blown away. What does everyone else think?

Would they run out and get this phone or prefer a simpler version? I think the choice is definitely YES for me.

Motorola HS820 manual

😕 I purchased a motorola bluetooth hs820 headset with my new V80 phone..
I recieved no owners manual with the headset.
does anyone know of a place I can download the manual??
I have found the one for the hs810 on the motorola site but not the hs820 and they are different ..as a person who has never owned or used any type of headset before it is totally alien to me so I really need the manual. I can push the large silver button and I get a flashing blue light but have no idea what it is doing.

advice to verizon

So here we are at phone scoop using, selling. evaluating and dreaming about communication through devices. I do not know how many we are but certainly we are a focused bunch (and more knowledgeable than most who use cell phones).

I propose that we come up with a feature list of four phones and then submit the results to the carriers and manufacturers at hopefully a face to face.

I also suggest that a forum or sub forum be set up for each type of phone to promote ease of pulling all the information together.

phone 1: this would be basic, basic, basic and would meet the requirements of the occasional user who does not need bells and whistles but only reliability on their call reception and phone/battery longevity.

phone 2: reliabi...

Perfect PDA Phone?

Am I looking for something that does not exist?

PDA that stores files in Windows Outlook format.
Bluetooth compatible.
Camera built in, not an add-on.
Can be used internationally.

Is there anything close to this out in the market, or even on the horizon?

My Motorola V600 was lost or stolen last night and I got used to both the Bluetooth headset and using the camera to send pictures back to my wife while traveling.

My Blackberry 6750 is out of contract, and I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT MY BLACKBERRY 😁 😁 I thought of upgrading to the new 77xx series to get the color features. And unlike my cell phone (which I don't understand why), my BB works seamlessly in India, Germany, Hong Kong, etc. So I thought instead of carrying 2 thi...

V400 and Nextel

here's a wierd story for all, i was playing with a v400 and i wanted to see what happens when i stick a nextel sim in there. turns out alot happens. Although the phone doesnt show any signal strengh, the banner nextel shows up as if it was receiving. the other crazy thing is besides my phone saying nextel is a symbol that was on top of the screen, it is prominent on nextels and it is a icon of a phone with the number one next to it. next wierd thing was sim apps was now available and when i went in it said i could go into iden contacts. heres just some good info for anyone to play with.

recommended house antenna?

My brother is completed a house on Amelia island in Northern Florida and apparently does not get good reception with his T-mobile. I am wondering what suggestions there might be out there for some sort of antenna he can mount on the house that can operate in or around the house wirelesslessly to boost the incoming and outgoing signal.

Don't bother suggesting anything that is not legal or safe.

Sooo? 3G or EDGE for the international traveler?

So far (besides satellite phones) it seems the best way to go is a Unlocked GSM quad band on T-Mobile. Then when overseas use a prepaid card when making calls, but leave in your USA T-Mobile card to receive calls. The question now turns to data. With a laptop in the US now, as long as you've got wi-fi, it seems that all you have to do is turn it on and your on someones wireless network. So if I want to use my notebook overseas I would prefer a phone with EDGE for performance, right? What about costs? Satellite phones are way down in price, but their data rates are horrible. I'm going to be all over the place starting in 2005 and would greatly appreciate it if folks could tel me if I'm headed in the right direction. While traveling I'll need ...
