Blackberry 7290 - Cingular/TMobile

The new Blackberry 7290 has bluetooth, but so far is only being sold by Cingular. Is it possible to buy the phone from them and use it on the TMobile network? If so, what is required?

Thanks in advance.

PTT, please explain

I posted this in another forum, but since it's more relavant to this one I'll put it here as well.

OK. Can someone PLEASE explain to me the use of PTT in the private sector?

I understand it in the business world. I've seen it used by contractors, my cable company, my landlord who runs a business. All these people need to be in constant contact with their employees/coworkers and it makes it so much easier for them to dish out orders, ask questions, and get solutions VERY quickly. I even saw it used by one worker to contact another worker (who was at my house at the time) to translate for a customer who only spoke spanish. All this is GREAT for businesses.

My question is WHAT IN THE HELL is it good for in the private sector? First off...

Help with Browser set up on v80 unlocked world phone for AT&T???

Can anyone help me out with this? I purchased an unlocked Motorola v80 from wireless galaxy and the phone is awesome. Great reception, features, etc...except when I try to get to mMode it always says "Network not available". I am getting 3 to full bars of service on AT&T at the time and on other Motorola's I have had it will always connect with the internet in the same reception. I do not see any place in the Browser setup menu to put in a default web address. 😕
Thanks!

Bluetooth ignorance

I'm almost embarassed to admit this, but I really don't know much about Bluetooth, except that you can use wireless handsfree and transfer files (addresses, etc) with it. 🤭 I've also heard of the so-called "smart" homes with BT-equipped appliances, etc that can communicate with each other. But what else can BT do now? And why would I want it in my car? I figure I better learn now before we get in Bluetooth-enabled phones! Thanks in advance guys

Nokia 3600

Please tell me there is a way to copy all the contacts from phone memory to the SIM memory.. I've looked through the manual and only thing I see is the Copy Direct option... And am not about to tell a cust to Copy 107 entries one at a time... Might as well re-input into new phone.

800 (850)mHz frequency needed in USA?

Hello. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the frequency mentioned above is absolutely needed in the USA. I would like to get a new GSM phone and would like to know if I can get by with a 900/1800/1900 phone and use ATT as my carrier here in the USA. If 850 is absolutely needed can anyone recommend a quad mode phone that is small in size? I like small and not a flip phone. Thanks for the help.

GPRS Questions

I have a Laptop and a T-Mobile Motorola V600. I know I can use the V600 as a modem to call my Internet Service Provider (ISP) and only use up my air time but the speed is rather slow (about 10 kbps).

I've been told that to access T-Mobile GPRS network I have to dial *99#. Do I just use air time to use GPRS or do I have to sign up for some data plan? How fast is GPRS? Also, what carrier has the access code of *99***3#.

Thank you very much for any response.

Best Convergence Device?

I have been searching far and wide for the best convergence device. I have pretty demanding requirements, so this is a pretty tough request. In a nutshell, I want as much PDA functionality as possible in a device that is no bigger than the average phone. I want Bluetooth, InfraRed, removable media and USB. I also want a phone that is supported by one of the top wireless carriers. That last issue seems to be the show stopper for me right now.

I thought I had found such a device. Actually, I did. The Nokia 6620 seems to serve me well for all of the above, except that it's a GSM phone. And quite frankly, AT&T's GSM network blows. I need service in rural areas, but it seems that only phones that handle analog and digital signals will...
