Motorola RAZR V3m

I decided to purchase the mini usb headset supposedly designed by moto for the phone, I don't remember seeing it around before the V3M launched so I'm hoping it is a good headset for listening.

My one qualm with "normal" headsets is that you usuallly get a gigantic amount of slack in one of the cords that is a huge pain. the moto ones look like they may be affected by this problem, but also look quite promising, it's hard to tell. anyone have any experience/reviews with this headset? currently I use the mini to 2.5 adapter, then a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter, then ipod headphones. I'm thinking the headset might simplify things (the beacon at the end of the usb-2.5 one is a little bulky and the has to be managed.)

I was checking out the RAZR in the Verizon store the other day and noticed that there are not distinct keys as with typical cell phones. Does the flat keypad with the plastic ripples make it more difficult to quickly enter text messages?

I think someone mentioned that they are offered only the silver version (from their area code) on the v710 settlement trade in website, but for my area code it only had gray available.

I ordered the gray version then sent an email quickly to them asking who I can contact to have my order changed to a silver one.

I am going to keep the phone because I like the size, but I am not happy for a few reasons.

1. The battery life is not adequate. If Verizon seriously wants you to use this for music and video then they need to fix this issue. Music and video kill the battery and, after all, you need that battery to make phone calls. I just got my 1000 mAh non-Motorola battery. I hope this fixes the problem.

2. Bluetooth kills the battery. Motorola knows this, which is why the phone is shipped without bluetooth on and the manual tells you to keep it off for battery life. Why, if you have this problem, didnt you softkey an on-off toggle for bluetooth instead of having you walk through 14 (exactly) key strokes to toggle it?

My gf is interested ijn buying the v3m in pink and is wondering if any1 knows how long the wait is going to be

im disappointed that a v710(hacked software) can do more than a new v3m. the v710 even has a better screen and its been out for 2 years. it makes me mad that if i get a new phone, it will be a "downgrade". although i like the look of the v3, its just not enough until someone finds some good software for it.

I charged my wifes overnight, battery lasted 6hrs with limited use. Anyone else experience this?

From reading various reviews, it appears that you can't sync the v3m phone calendar with the calendar in Outlook via motorola phone tools software. Does anyone know for sure? This is a feature that I use faithfully with the E815 phone so that all appointments/meetings are on both calendars. 😕

I have had several phones with the memory card like the 8100 and the 8300 and know for a fact that the lg's and samsungs you can store pix, flix, sounds, and music on the memory card, but the razr v3m seems to only recognize the music doesnt let you store pictures on the memory card or videos. Is there any way to turn that on, or it just cant. thx ☹️

several verizon sales people have told me that this phone is not durable. i am not sure if this is an attempt to get me to buy the extended warranty or if there is a real problem. any thoughts?

Is the numkey too shiny on the grey model of the v3m....might get the silver then

Then new silver color was on the vzw website yesterday but now its not there anymore. The main verizon page still shows the fathers day special with a black interior phone. Anyone know anything about this?

Does anyone know if the v3m is available on the v710 settlement site where you can swap your v710 out for a new one? if so, is the silver available?

I am coming off a 2 year contract and have the NE2 ($100 credit). I am deciding if I should purchase only a one year contract, which i think I would only have to pay $20 or sign a 2 yr for a free phone. I was just thinking that I could get a better phone next year but who knows.

I've read some of the posts that say you can transfer your songs to this phone via WMP, which is fine. However I was wondering how practical is it as a music player. Can you create/listen to playlists? Can you skip songs if the flip is closed? Can you take it to the gym and use it as a music player?
Obviously it's not an iPod, but I wondering if it is practical as a music player. Thanks in advance.

I am one of the few who bought the Nokia 6256i and one of the things I have been pleased with is the free Nokia PC Suite software which allows me to sync my Outlook contacts and schedule with the phone. (The music capabilities are another story, however.) Is there a similar free software product that allows one to sync a V3m with Outlook to get my contacts schedule into the phone?

This one is the most promising that I've seen, I'm wondering if any of you have recommendations? I am not a holster/case person with my cell phones but I'd like a non-interfering shell or skin to protect it.
