MDA available on TMo's website

I see there are many who want this but can't find it. I have called many TMo SF stores and can't find it here either. (I refuse to pay for Cingular's horrific serivce and 2 year contracts.) I took a shot and ordered one online at TMobile expecting to be told it was out of stock. Surprisingly and happily one is on its way to me and should be in my hands tomorrow. 😁

Spare Battery

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a good cheap spare Li-Ion battery that would work well with the Tmobile MDA? Tmobile has a MDA branded one for $30 online. But I'm sure there has to be a cheaper generic that works just as well.

Thanks! 😁

Drempels anyone?

would you be able to run drempels on a PPC? it's a light wallpaper app for PC desktops, just curious if it would be possible to run on a PPC like this one, or any others out there... just curious, if you have tried it, i'd appreciate any feedback... thanx in advanced.

Is there a way to extend the length of time the kepad stays lit? I found the screen, just not the keypad?

Cingular 8125 buttons?

I've been using the 8125 for several days now and generally like it but for the buttons. Has anyone found a way to better map/use the navigation pad? For example, if I'm in contacts, select one, and wish to "go back", it would seem to me that I should be able to push the left nav key. Is there no going back in the Windows world? Do I have to click 'ok' in each instance? Seems silly that I have to take out the stylus to tap the screen when there's a nav pad. Thanks for any clues!

How's the reception on the Cingular 8125 compared to the SMT 5600

Just wondering what the reception is like since it has no kind of external antenna.

Don't bother

Maybe other versions are different, but the Cingular 8125 version of this phone is not up to it's advertising.

I got mine last week and have sent it back.

The design is great. You will love it as soon as you see it. It's small but has a nice size screen. It's lightweight but has a sturdy feel. I was very excited to finally have a windows mobile phone with a full keyboard and 320x240 screen and Edge.

However, as soon as you boot it up you will be disappointed. It is VERY SLOW. It took almost 2 minutes to boot up before I could open anything up.

Once it was up and running, it worked OK, but it still felt really sluggish to me. After I loaded Pocket Informant and Sprite Backup on it it was useless. Everytime I clicked on anything i...

Blackberry vs.MDA

The main feature that the T-Mobile blackberry has that I use is multiple email accounts coming to it, and I can respond using the same email address that the email was sent to. Does anyone know if that is the case with the MDA?

Windows version

I have a treo 650 and use documents to go by dataviz. I am thinking about switching over to the 8125, but I was wondering does this handheld already come with microsoft word, excel etc.? If not is there a way to get these features on the phone. Any help with this would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

Dial-up Networking

Does anyone know if thie phone supports dial-up networking (DUN) ie using the phone as a modem for a laptop via cable or Bluetooth? PPC's are great, but they can't do everything a laptop can do, even with 5.0.

I'm specifically looking to do this with T-Mobile's MDA.

Oh Yummy

I just got to handle this phone and that's the only thing I can think of to say about it, "Oh Yummy." It's going to take some getting used to because the screen and layout are so small, it's little. I sat it next to my E315 and while the 315 is smaller and lighter it's not a lot smaller, the weight is a pretty big difference but it's wonderful... I didn't want to give it back (I was just looking at the model we have in the call center to pass around.) I'll be calling Care to buy one today.

GPS???

😢 So I plan to buy the Tmobile MDA on Tuesday (assuming they are in stock). I was blown away by my friends PPC-6700 (CDMA). He had a GPS and when I talked to Tmobile (who are idiots) they were 'fairly certain' the MDA did too. But phonescoop doesn't list it (side by side comparison to PPC-6700).

Can someone confirm, is there really no GPS? That would suck. I guess I'll still get it, but I was hoping for: GPS + EDGE + google map, for travel, local places to eat, hiking, biking, etc.

Thanks in advance.
