Usable as a PDA???

I just got a new phone, the Motorola SLVR, but I am beginning to realize I need PDA/Pocket PC device for work. Since both devices have bluetooth is it possible for me to use the 8125 to create texts or emails and link it to the SLVR to send messages? I am considering just exchanging the SLVR and getting the 8125 with service but I really like the iTunes program on the SLVR. Can I have the best of both worlds or should I give up the iTunes?

8125 out for consumers now!

The 8125 is now listed on the consumer web site of Cingular. From what I'm hearing it's already sold out or close to it. It's $299 with rebate. My question, I'm a current Cingular subscriber. Anyone know where I can get this phone and at the best price?

Released by Cingular TODAY

For those who only follow news here and not at Howard's Forum:

The wait is over! Cingular released the 8125 and the 8120 today on their Premier site (for B2B customers), with prices varying by organization, but most are in the $225 - $300 range.

For those not able to get to the Premier site, the retail version should be out shortly.

Now, this forum can move from "when will it be out?" to "how do I fix or do ?" 😉

Where can I purchase a 8125 now?

I see the 8125 is now available through B2B but not for consumers.
Does anyone have it yet and if so what are your opinions? Also, is
there any way for a regular consumer to get it this way?

How to dial 8125?

I hope to get a HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125) but have a question about dialing.
Do I have to slide out the keyboard to dial or is there a way of just turning it on and punching in the phone number on the screen through some type of app?
Of course I know there is voice dialing. How well does this work?
Also, from what I've read this has vibrate mode. Do the call volume work well with as well as without a bluetooth headset?

Hang on!

Yes from what I understand Cing did release it on the premier site...however...this is what usually happens with any new piece of equipment adept for business. Do not call up a B2B rep over the phone just yet asking for it because no one can provision it! I have a feeling that this phone is able "preordered" and shortly an official release will come. I know this since I work for Cingular. When the device is officially released I will be posting...till then chill!!

....and now for something completely different (mp 🙂 )

Sad News

Just spent 45 minutes with the Cingular phone service department. They found no release date for this phone. I was also informed that the quarter reports have been completed for this quarter and this phone is not among the phones to be released. The woman stated that the next quarter release date is June 06. She said the phone might be in that group.

8125 vs. 2125 vs. Blackberry

I would appreciate anyone suggestion to my dilemma. Briefly, in my line of work I travel extensively around the globe, hence I need a quad-band phone. The most important feature for me is the reliability of the device, decent (i.e. professional) looking phone with good audio, display and BT headset capabilities with enormous phone book and some miscellaneous PDA features, like hosting third-party database. As far as the internet features are concerned, I mostly has to be able to access my various email accounts as well as occasional IM. In light of the above, which of the three devices (i.e. 8125, 2125, Blackberry) would you recommend as my Cingular reps claims Blackberry would be the answer...
Thank you.
