Availabilty w/ other carriers

Has anyone heard when/if this phone will be available through Verizon Wireless? I'm hoping it will be, but won't take as long as the RAZR did.

Help - not playing songs purchased from iTunes

I have about 65 songs on my SLVR. All songs were transferred via iTunes. My SLVR will only play songs NOT purchased from iTunes. The phone shows the songs are there but skips past all the ones purchased from iTunes.

Can anyone help?

Cingular Itunes vs. Unlocked version

aside from what comes with the phone...What are the pro's/Cons between the two...if you are going to be using it on cingular anyway?

My main concern is...I know with the unlocked version you can easily upload Mp3's from your computer and use them as a ringtone. Can you do this with the I-Tunes version?

"Please Wait" Message When Idle

Every few minutes, when my phone is sitting idle, it will light up and a message will appear for about one second that says "Please Wait."

I thought maybe it was a card game I downloaded recently that did not work well, but I have deleted it and since removed my battery, etc.

Anyone else experiencing similar, or have any idea what may be wrong?

Thanks.

Missed Call Alert

I've had other Motorola phones and they've always beeped to let me know that I had a missed call. The Slvr does not and I've been looking through the user manual and the phone itself to see if I can change this, but I can't find anything. Does anyone know if there is a setting to add a missed call alert?

Thanks!

Is there any way to keep the screen display viewable after the backlight turns off? every time the backlight turns off the screen goes blank, which means i have to keep hitting a button to activate again to see if i have any missed calls or messages. Any help is greatly appreciated.

sounds like limited MP3 functionality

So in addition to the 100 song limit...

1. It doesn't play variable bitrate mp3s (most of my music)

2. It doesn't play mp3s with bitrates over 192kbps (most the rest of my music)

3. It has trouble playing/transferring large mp3 files (also a great portion of my music, since I listen to DJ mixes exeeding an hour in length).

Can someone confirm this?

The phone looks great, but I want a phone that will do what I want it to do. Looks like I'll be holding out for something better - maybe the ROKR E2 if they don't botch that one up.

ACTUAL RELEASE DATE!

Now that the SLVR L7 is actually being advertised on Motorola's main page, I decided to give them a call. The Motorola representative that I spoke with said that the SLVR L7 will be released in the US during the first week of February. Only 2 more weeks to go! 😁

I think I have ruled out the SLVR L7 due to earphones!

Okay so I was all set to order the SLVR L7 but from what I have been reading, you can not plug earphone directly in to it like on the ROKR! You have to buy some silly adaptor and then plug them in! How true is this? If it is true how lame is that? I don't want to have to carry a freaking adaptor around when I want to listen to my music. Motorola has dropped the ball on this one!

Headset Adapter ??'s

Hi,

Does anyone know much about the included headset adapter?

Will it support a stereo headset with a microphone?

One of my uses for this device will be while touring on my motorcycle. I have a nice communications system for the bike, Starcom one.

So I am wondering if I connect this phone via the included adapter will it be able to use phone and play music into my helmet?

Another possible way to do it would be purchase the bluetooth adapter for my communications system, but the SLVR users guide states that not all bluetooth headsets can support music playback. So the other question is... Is there some bluetooth protocol or spec that the headset must support in order for both functions to work simultaneously? Actually blue...

Hacks??

I recently purchased the SLVR L7. Let me tell you some thing! This phone sux!!! I previously had the Sony Ericcson w600i and that phone was sweet compared to this one! I can't do any thing with this stupid Motorola phone, they locked it down and put a cr@py interface on it!

My question is has any one been able to hack into the stupid phone? If so some tips would be nice because as it is out of the box it's a wast of money! Other than its kick'n sweet design and size the phone has nothing to offer for real "personal" use!

If any one from iTunes or motorola is reading this plesae, know that
#1 not every one has bought into this stupid iTunes craze and we think it sux.
#2 motorola, what were you thinking? Oh let's lock the phone to and...

MMode on the MOTO SLVR

I bought this phone on EBay and it is obviously a foreign phone.

I am trying to activate MMode. The manual I received with the phone is in German, and the English manual lists MEDIANET as a menu function, whereas my phone only has WEBACCESS.

I think I have the program to configure MMode.....does anyone know how I would begin to program MMode ??

Thanx

dialing numbers w/ 'pause' or 'wait'

I do a lot of conference and have tried programming in the pause or wait in a number sequence.

The first string dials fine, but it never seems to kick off the paused part of the string.

Any suggestions on how to get this phone to continue dialing the sequence?

will MP3 player work for non-Cingular?

i am a T-mobile customer and can buy an unlocked SLVR phone to use. However, i only want to buy this if i can use the mp3 player functionality of this phone without subscribing to Cingular service. i just want the ability to transfer songs to the phone from my laptop (through iTunes, i have an iPod) and listen to them. Can I do this without a hassle?

Thanks
