Motorola SLVR L7

hello

i was wondering for people who have the phone already, what colour is the keypad? becuase i saw pictures where it was black, then i saw a silver one, then i saw bronze....so i was wondering, what colour is the keypad? i also wanted to know like other people if the keypad smells bad after a while considering its made of metal....?

In the name of all that is 2006....does this phone truly not have auto-update of time and date???? 👿 👿 I have a Nokia 5190 from 1995 that has that friggin' feature!!!! Why would the RAZR, which has almost the same exact features minues the PTT (which is also worthless), and memory card have the auto-update and not the SLVR???? If I'm just missing it, PLEASE someone let me know.....

I had some time on my hands and decided to call Cingular about the L7 and the PTT option. I talked to 5 reps.

2 Had no idea what is a SLVR L7
1 Said he can't say anything about SLVR L7
1 Said PTT will work for SLVR L7
1 Said no PTT will not work for SLVR L7 only on Samsung and LG.

I think they are very confused!!!

It's a bummer to see this phone have EXACTLY the same specs as the ROKR (save the form factor). This design has been out for some time now, and yet the ROKR is released before this? On top of that lunacy, this phone doesn't improve on the ROKR at all: Same 100 song limit, same camera quality, same features (BT, but I'll be it's not possible to xfer songs over it). . . And I'm sure as soon as customers get it, I'll be getting complaints similar to all motos: Great design, poor manufacture. . . terrible phone. I hope Moto has the sense to at least make the V3i worth an upgrade to the RAZR.

I see that the ROKR E2 has been announced. Did Motorola abandon the US release of the SLVR? Hey Motorola… Whats up?

I found a cell phone store in the area that will sell me a SLVR, and has purchased equipment to unlock phones, but says that he hasn't had any success unlocking Motorola phones. Are there any tricks or things that you have to do to get the unlocking to work on Motorola phones? Is there a how-to or something somewhere I can get to him to try? Thanks

I've never really looked into the unlocked phones until now, so I'm not sure I fully understand them. It seems like the unlocked phones are exactly the same as the Cingular phones, except will work on any GSM carrier, correct? Then my question is, is there any advantage at all in getting the Cingular phone instead of an unlocked one, since the unlocked ones don't come with iTunes (And therefor the 100 song limit)? If I were to get the unlocked model, would all teh features (Excluding PTT) work fine, or are there compatability issues?

Is this phone going to be compatible with any of the new stereo bluetooth headsets, or do I have to wait for the new Rokr e2?

by my radioshack store manager. just updated in the system. $149 for new 2 year, $149 upgrade, $224 1 year. unactivated $349. No date on arrival though.

So does this device actually impose a limit of 100 songs? or is it because the max card you can use is 512? thats about 5 megs per song, but what if i put 100 really small songs on there? will it stop me from adding anymore than 100?

would anyone happen to know if cingular will offer insurance on the SLVR?

We Just got all of our brochures and marketing signs for the SLVR L7 WITH iTunes! My moto rep says any day now it will be available from cinglar. Im speculating the first of february but it could be sooner!

Can anyone that owns this phone tell me if the SLVR has Motorola's new User Interface as seen in the link below?

I was talking with several people from Cingular stores and they said that Cingular has a deal with Nokia about Cingular only carrying bar phones with Nokia and no one else. That's why all the other phones Cingular has are all flips. FYI

I have the vodafone version and it rocks on cingular in america. It has special vodafone screensaver and classy skin. Its awesome! =)

I have a new SLVR, which I got from Plemix.com for $285. I love the phone except for one serious problem: it won’t let me set up Email account settings. I tediously input all the data for my account & service provider, but then it won’t let me exit & save the information. The only options are to “Cancel” or continue indefinitely “Changing” information in one field. Anyone know of a solution?

Because Cingular absolutely sucks for service quality.

I realy want this phone, but again, is Verizon going to miss the boat and take 2 years to come out with it?
