Is there any way to keep the screen display viewable after the backlight turns off? every time the backlight turns off the screen goes blank, which means i have to keep hitting a button to activate again to see if i have any missed calls or messages. Any help is greatly appreciated.

once that really, really bright backlight is off you won't be able to see the screen. i don't really have a good explanation why, but that's the way it is. 😕
