Samsung Pricing Info from Verizon Business Solutions

just spoke to Carol, from the 1800-vzw-4biz , and she gave me the low down

first of all , to answer the camera question, she said she doens't believe there will be, but she said again that "she was wrong many times before" so keep hope.

Second, here's the price spec:

2 year agreement: 599.99
1 year agreement: 649.99
No contract: 719.99

Father's Day and the I730

Tell me Verizon didn't miss the boat on this one. I just got off the phone with my wife, she and the kids are out buying fathers day gifts. When she asked what I want, I told her to hold off a week because of the I730 is pending release. She stated "the kids want to get you something now"

Curse you Verizon, for not having this phone out by father's day. It would have made for a great gift...

Camera? Wifi?

So now that we know the release dates, is anyone sure either way if there will be wifi? And how about the Camera? Will I be able to get a camera version on July 7?

Also, I'm currently working with a Kyocera 7135, I'm thinking about getting the xv6600, taking it back before the 30 day trial, and stepping up to that 730 in July. Smart or no?

Calling All Hackers!

What's the likelyhood that this thing will be hacked to unlock the disabled bluetooth features? Also if it is hacked is it possible to make it support the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)? With a 2 Gig (I think I've seen a 4 Gig somewhere) SD card and a pair of bluetooth headphones this would add a nice wireless MP3 function.

Life after the release of the i730...M7000

When the i730 gets released, many i730 forum addicts may go into withdrawals. No more heated debates over release dates, Wi-Fi/no Wi-Fi, camera/no camera, is So and So really a Verizon Rep or not, and most important, should an expensive case for an expensive phone be compared to a BMW or a condom?

Well there is good news. Samsung just announced a new EVDO, Pocket PC, sliding QWERTY Keyboard phone: the SPH-M7000

Looks pretty cool. Initially it'll be released only on Korea, but then...?

I heard from a friend who knows a guy whose sister is dating a guy whose uncle knows a guy who cleans the bathrooms at the Verizon retail store in West Hollywood tha...

Vaja Case

I just emailed vajacases.com to find out if they are designing a case for our beloved phone to be (little sammy) and I got this response:

"We have plans to develop the case for that phone, but we can´t give you an approximate releasing date.
Anyway, we´ll contact you as soon as it´s available.

Thanks for your interest in our products!

Best regards,

Ok, for those of you who do not know, vaja cases are hand made specifically for you exact model (handmade). They are pricey, but they will protect your phone and give it a very good look. They are definitely worth the money.

Most of your questions answered.

I am a RSR for VZW and this is what I know so far. I actually had the phone in my hand as one of the technicians was testing a final model.

- IT WILL HAVE WI-FI. Aint that a shocker. I think this is because broadband access is still only in select markets.

- The release will NOT have a camera, but a future relase may. I do not have specs on the camera.

- Price will be between $650-700. This I am still a little skeptical about though.

Using the i730 to keep up with emails in outlook

I am a novice when it comes to this, but I want this phone for a number of reasons. One of which is to be able to send and receive emails from the phone. What do I need in order to do this for work? Do I just need the exchange server information? A coworker mentioned I would need a VPN or something. Any help would be appreciated.

Release Date and Features Confirmed

I just got off the phone with Verizon Customer Service (611) and they have confirmed the release date of July 7th for the consumer market and 6/23 for B2B. There is NO camera, though B2B may have it. There IS Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is there as is the voice command but no mention of the infra-red remote software. I suspect it's there and just not a big selling point. Price is $599 for two year contract, 649 for one year and 719 for no contract. I'll be over-nighting this puppy next Thursday for sure!

i730 vrs. XV6600 input?

When the XV6600 first came out, I was pretty excited about it, especially the EVDO service. I was even told by a Verizon data tech that I could use it on a limited bases as a high speed modem for a laptop or desk top PC and even a Mac, which would be a big plus for me. Camera with flash, good size display, Pocket PC functionality, key board and graffiti, life was looking good!

Then I heard about the i730. The processor specs are better and it definitely looks better. Life got a little more complicated.

The XV6600 hasn't even come up in this forum for quite a while. Either everyone here is a raving fanatic, or there is are good reasons.

I'd like some input. Here is what I've heard:

XV6600: No Wi-Fi (may be the same for the i7...

INSTALLING APP'S????

The real question is are we going to be able to install pda compatible applications to our "pda smart phone", or will this feature be locked. I have never owned a "smartphone" so I do not know the limitations on these devices.
