Bluetooth crippled????

Under the phones features it lists
-Infrared port, USB and Bluetooth® connectivity*

*The Samsung i730 supports Bluetooth Profiles for wireless headset, hands-free accessories, file transfer and synchronization with compatible PC’s. It does not support all profiles for object exchange (OBEX). Accessories sold separately. See verizonwireless.com/bluetooth for details.

The above words are directly from Verizon's i730 page http://www.vzwshop.com/samsungi730info/

I am not fully understanding what this means. Someone who does please explain this. What is OBEX?

Is EVDO Worth It?

From the Verizon site:

"Unlimited NationalAccess/BroadbandAccess cannot be used: (1) for uploading, downloading or streaming of movies, music or games; (2) with server devices or with host computer applications, including, without limitation, Web camera posts or broadcasts, automatic data feeds, telemetry applications, automated functions or any other machine-to-machine application; or (3) as a substitute or backup for private lines or dedicated data connections."

Doesn't that kinda suck?? Why pay so much money for high speed if you can't download or stream music or movies?

So I just called Verizon Wireless about this phone.

Ok I got tired of the speculation and just decided to call them. Well here is what the guy on the phone said. He is expecting June or July. He was hinting more to June though so hey it isnt that far away. Just next month.

Connect with BMW's?

Anyone know if this phone will connect with the '06 330 BMW? The only verizon phone listed on BMW's site is the Moto V710.

How about you "dmountford", you seem to be "in the know"?

Camera in 1st Release?

I was just wondering if anyone knew if the SCH-i730's camera would be included in verizon's initial release, or will it come a month later like it did with the Audiovox6600

EV-DO fast or what?

So here is a good question. Well when this phone comes out my contract will be up and I get to up again (woohoo new every two and woohoo contract signup lower price). But anyway this gives me the option to change to cingular or stay with verizon. What i am wondering is the verizon EV-DO or cingular's pda internet faster? I am in an area that both companies have massive networks (the chicagoland area) so the coverage really isnt an issue for me. I am looking for speed so i wonder which is best.

WI-FI/Release date, kinda...

My Verizon biz rep assures me that there will absolutley, 100%, without a doubt be wi-fi.

-He also said the phone is in it's final stage of market testing and will be released the third or fourth week of June.

SKYPE mobile on the i730 - could it work on EV-DO???

So I currently use SKYPE to have phone conversations with friends outside of the country from my home computer. Skype has introduced skype mobile for pocket pcs.

http://skype.com/products/skype/pocketpc/ »

1. will this work on the i730??
2. also is there a reason that is won't work with the EV-DO service?
3. anyone know the speed of EV-DO??

IM Question

Ok I am wondering about this. I currently have a motorola V710. On the get it now there is a program so you can use aim, msn, and yahoo messenger. This works by counting one text message for a send and one for a receive. If I get this phone I will be getting the unlimited PDA/Smartphone internet plan along with my current voice plan. What I am wondering is if I do this will I be able to use the aim pda program with the unlimited data so I dont have to have my huge text message plan (2500 a month)I got to admit if i can use the data plan with that app I am completely even more sold than I already am now.

NO WIFI FOR THE SAMSUNG I730

Well, we can’t say that we’re really too surprised to learn that there’s apparently not going to be any WiFi action happening with the Samsung i730 — at least, not in Verizon’s implementation of it. As we all know too well by now, that would be just too much functionality, now wouldn’t it.

Verizon officially Acknowledges the Sammy SCH i730

Verizon is stating that this summer it will release this phone. Pretty vague 🙄 Not sure if that is for general retail or what 😕 Anyway, I pasted the text below in case they decide to pull this link.
