Ring and Vibrate?

I like the phone but does it have the capability of "Vibe and Ring" at the same time or do they have to be seperate? Its kind of annoying that they cant just make a phone with it its seems.

Thanks in advance.

Motorola Ringtones - how to delete?

Can you delete the ringtones that come with the phone?
I don't see a delete option - I even tried to mark them and delete - but it still won't do it.

Help!

San Disk HELP

I have a Motorola e815 for ALLTEL, and I just bought a 518mb microSD card for it. But I don't know exactly how to use it?

I am particularly looking for information on obtaining ringtones, and such. Mp3 files as well.

MP3 Ringtones.. answer

I know there are several threads about this with plenty of good information. This is for the people that don't have the inclination to dig through the large threads to find it. I have done this myself several times without any problems.

#1. Go to www.funformobile.com and download wavepad and install. All the instructions for cropping files are included on the website... very good instructions.

#2. Open the MP3 or other sound file (works on .wav files, too) that you wish to use as a tone. Edit the file to size and duration. I've cropped mine to 19-25 seconds.

#3. Save your file as an MP3 (file, save file as, choose MPeg layer 3 from the drop-down at the bottom). A window will open up asking for the bitrate to use. 48 is a decent set...

Motorola E815 or LG VX8300

Ready to upgrade from my way old LG 4400 and would like some opinions on these 2 phones. I know the LG is not out yet (June 5, I think) and the Motorola has been around for a while. As for the Motorola, all the user and professional reviews I have read (enough to make my eyeballs hurt) are highly rated with very little negative. However, the LG is an unkown out there on the web, so I have based my thoughts on reviews of the LG 8100, which is also highly rated. However, the LG 8100 is consistently rated slightly behind the Motorola. My experience with my current, way outdated LG has been exceptional. I am leaning toward the LG, but with no real user reviews out there, I am just not sure. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Bluetooth issues

Hello all I've had my phone for about a month now. All in all I love the phone, but I am having one issue that I was wondering if others are having as well. If I use my bluetooth headset to receive and make calls alot. Maybe three calls in twenty mins. My phone will disconnect from the headset. Then when I try to reconnect it it says that the bluetooth is already in use. So (while still leaving the headset turned on) I cut the phone off and cut it back on and it works. I've found that as long as I don't send and receive calls in a short amount of time that it does fine. I've had it connected to the phone for hours and I test it by asking what my signal strength is and it does fine, but like I said when I use it quite a bit the phone does tha...

Keeping internal display clean

I just got this phone last Friday and so far I really like it. But 2 things I was wondering about from other owners. The inside screen seems hard to keep clean, I wipe it gently with a soft cloth and it always looks smudged and streaked. What is the best way to keep it clean..any tips? Also, I used the speakerphone on a couple calls today and I dialed out, the person answered but could not hear me speaking while on speakerphone. I called back, then turned speakerphone back on and I could be heard. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks. 😁

Menu Key problem

A friend of mine purchased a E815 on my recommendation so I could help with settings. Turns out the Menu Key doesn't bring up the Main Menu but brings up Media Gallery menu instead. There doesn't seem to be any other way to get to the Main Menu to change any settings. Motorola Customer Support said to bring it back to Verizon for an exchange, but before having to deal with the two-hour + ordeal, I thought it couldn't hurt to ask first if anyone has seen this problem before and if there's a quick resolution?

Thanks,

I am thinking of buying this phone but wanted to know if the external display window is lit up the whole time you are on a call or does it dim after the keypad lighting goes off? Thanks in advance.

Message Indicator icon WONT disappear!.......

Hi, the new message received icon (envelope on outside/inside displays) will not go away.....it's frozen there. I'm not going crazy -- deleted all the text messages & voicemails just to be sure.....& I've received new messages from people since, & it still wont disappear after they're old. It's been like this for over a week....Also, when I call my voicemail, it says I have no new messages....

When it happened, I was playing a game on the phone & didn't answer when the person called & left a message --- So somehow because of that, the icon became frozen on the screen.

It's just a real hassel -- always having to go in & check to make sure I have no new messages.

Just wanted to make sure I couldn't resolve the problem myself, with...

Playlist troubles

I successfully got playlists of 2, 5, 10, and 12 songs to work, but once I add more than 12 songs to a playlist, the phone simply locks up for awhile before resetting itself. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get 40-50 song playlists to work? Has anyone else had the same problem?

E-815 charging

It may have been duscussed here before, but I can't find it.
My wife's e-815, even with the newest software, charges overnight and still shows one 'bar' during charging. Talk time is much less than when it was new. (9 month's old now)
I stopped by the store, which didn't have a battery tester, and they flashed the new software, suggesting that could help. (I doubt it)
This morning, it's still charging, one bar..
I know it's not the charger as we have 5 of them!
It could be either a tired battery, or a bad charging system in the phone. I'm going to buy a new battery and try that first.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
Also, what's the easiest way to transfer the pictures on the phone- no sd card yet.
(Ie will the st...

microSD capacity

Has anyone found if there is a maximum size microSD card the E815 can handle? Has anyone used a 512MB or 1GB card with success?

MP3 Player download error

Can someone please help me? When I put my mp3s onto the microSD card in the "motorola->shared->audio" folder, with my sd card reader/writer,they transfer and show up fine. The problem is when I put the card into the phone, there are songs missing at random. I would like to be able to have my cds on my phone as separate playlists so as to navigate easily. I just traded in my a950 due to awful recepetion, but the music library on it was super easy. There must be a way to achieve that with this vastly superior phone...

Is there any way to remap the buttons?

I'm coming from an LG with Cingular and now I'm really used to pressing the top left button for yes and the top right button to go back. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually but I just wanted to see if I could switch that around. Thanks.

e815 backlight issues with Motorola Car Charger

When i connect my e815 to my motorola car charger:

1. The backlight on the inner and outer displays remains fully illuminated, they don't dim or go off;
2. The phone gets very warm, even when not being used;
3. The charge rate is much slower than the wall charger, less than half.

I have:
1. Tried 2 brand new motorola car chargers;
2. Used the car chargers in more than 3 different vehicles.

When I use the motorola traver wall charger, the backlight on both displays drops to the lowest brightness level. This, to me, is normal.

What are your experiences with the car and wall charger for this phone? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
