question about spectar's review

Spectar,

You say "The external LCD light, its one color, white..(but if you tilt the phone its has cool hologram effects)"

from reading the description of the phone it says the outside screen has multiple backlight colors. I am wondering if this is not the same thing you are talking about or is the description of the phone wrong?

Thanks for the clarification,
Matt

Voice Recognition problem?

This is something I discovered by accident, and from what I can tell the manual makes no mention of this (probably because it a software error). I tested this "problem" on my unit and another unit at the store:

When adding contacts, or editing or adding numbers to a contact the voice recognition gets screwy...it usually cant identify the contact you just altered. For example, I had my friends name "mike" in the phone, it worked fine, until I went in afterwords to add another number to it, after that every time I said "mike" the phone would not recognize the contact name..or it would bring up another contact (in mine it was "mom") at first I said "what the?, but it was just working!" then I went to store to see if I could replicate the pro...

Viewing/scrolling images and images for contacts

I just purchased this phone about a day ago. I like the phone a lot, until I used the graphics option from GET IT NOW. I downloaded some images that I uploaded to Picture This!

I saved them as wallpapers in which placed it into the graphics folder under My Media. Well, I was browsing the images and all of sudden the images stopped displaying and then the phone shut off. I didn't think too much of it, so I tried again, well it happened again, it just shut off, entirely. I thought it needed to be charged and also thought it needed to cool down, but that wasn't the case.

I then went to verizon to find out if they knew anything, but of course they didn't, and they just replaced the phone. Well, thinking it might have been the phone, it wa...

Volume control

If anyone else is having the same trouble with the volume control I was, this will help you. Every time I adjusted the ear piece or speaker volume during a call, it would change itself. If I turned it up, it would wait a second and turn back down. If I turned it down, it would turn back up. I was about ready to open up the window and throw it as far as I could! Finally, I tried clicking the "OK" button after changing the volume setting and that took care of the problem. It doesn't say anywhere in the manual this is necessary...maybe it's an LG thing...don't know as this is my first. But hopefully this will save someone's sanity. Otherwise, it seems to be a good phone so far.

Auto Power mode

Does this phone have the auto power mode that the vx6000 has? I think it turns itself off and on depending on how long it has been idle. Any info on this would be great.

Thanks

Just exchanged my 4400B for 4500

Whew 1 day to spare on 15 day trial of the 4400B. I did like the 4400B. It was super with signal and battery time (extended battery), but I wanted the speaker for safe driving. You would appreciate that too if you saw how poorly drive even while not on my mobile. 😳

I just picked up the phone and will review it over the next couple of days. The speaker is loud. I have not had time to play with many features yet. I am trying to find a way to use the speaker closed, the driving mode may do this. The voice recognition seems nice so far.

I'll be back soon.

Speaker

Has anyone seen the back of this phone? On Howard forum they have pic's of the back and it looks like the speaker for the speaker phone is HUGE. Verizon takes soooo long to release a phone and they still cant get it right. My contract is up in april and i am going to find another carrier.

we will see

Well, I for one am going to give it a try, hell, I have 15 days to try it out, it cant be as bad as the 8900 speaker or the 8600 with the "verizon" flasing along the front. I dont need a camera on my phone, (have that on my I700) I will give people the info on what I think tomorrow πŸ˜•

Had it since 1/22

I've been using the VX4500 since Jan. 22. And so far, it's been great. The speakerphone is as good or better than anything I've heard, and the voice recognition/command is nothing short of amazing. No more "record your voice into memory". It's now type it in, and the phone knows what your saying without, saying it. Anyone can use your "phone book", not just you. Impressive. Real nice package. Don't need a camera, don't want a camera on my phone. Battery is on par or better for a color screen. Oh, and by the way, I have no blinking "Verizon" banner .
