You say "The external LCD light, its one color, white..(but if you tilt the phone its has cool hologram effects)"
from reading the description of the phone it says the outside screen has multiple backlight colors. I am wondering if this is not the same thing you are talking about or is the description of the phone wrong?

The one I played with at my local store allowed changing the color of the external LCD just like on the 4400B. I'm confused by the review as well. I'm still evaluating whether to switch my 4400B for the 4500 during my 15 day evaluation period, so I'm still researching this phone, but really leaning towards it! I had to call the Verizon CS today for a totally different issue and asked as an aside "what do you think of the 4500?". He answered with an enthusiastic "It's HOT!"
Data Tech hasn't gotten their hands on one yet (had to call them to get credit for some of the GIN that I had done, but had to exchange my first defective 4400B for another one, and they credited me for the downloads I had done with the first one), but are expecting one...

You are welcome! Please be sure to post back your observations about the phone if you get it. It won't be until Friday for me, if I decide to make the switch, but I'm really leaning towards it. I even forced my 4400 into digital only service this week to make sure that I am able to get coverage on my daily routes. So far so good, as it being a dual mode was also a concern for me, but I really don't hear many 6000 users complaining about their service coverage, so maybe it's not a big issue.

well..actually heres the deal. If the external light comes on its a white backgound, I have yet to see a way to change the color. But when the light is not on as your point of view changes from the lcd screen it reflects different colors. What you red on the description was about the staus light,on the top right of the phone, you can change the color of the light for each status (incoming call, message, low bat, etc) I have my light set to "dynamic" so it cycles through all the colors when a call comes in. hope that helps..

it looks like you are right, just kind of sucks that the description on this site has a fairly misleading wording, "monochrome LCD" meaning one color, yet in the same line it says "multiple backlight colors"
I guess they could have chosen a little better way to state that.
