clicking noise

Has any body noticed that when you switch into or out of camera mode there is a little clicking noise (sounds almost like static electricity)?

Syncing with computer

☹️ The one main thing that Motorola missed with this phone and is not mentioned in any reviews is that the phone does not sync with Outlook or Mac computers.
All syncing is done only with a g mail account. So in essence, the phone does not sync your addresses or calendars.

How could Motorola be so blind sided. This phone will not replace the blackberry as most all blackberry users
sync with their computer.

This is a deal breaker.

Droid Bluetooth (and some other issues)

Just got a Droid. I like many things about it, but here are some questions/issues and I would appreciate any help:
-I have a Parrot 3000 Bluetooth device installed in my car. The Droid pairs with the Parrot and the microphone and speaker work. However, pressing the button on the Parrot that's supposed to request a voice command does nothing. You can voice dial using the voice command button on the Droid but it's hard to see in the car (especially if the screen goes into sleep mode) and you have to physically press "OK' to complete a call.
Does anyone know how to make the Parrot voice dialing feature work with the Droid?
-Is there any way to disable the automatic locking feature? When I'm using the Droid in the car, I don't want it to l...

better battery solution

The first couple of days I had my Droid (which I love, btw) I would run through the battery by 4:00-5:00 pm. This is texting quite a bit and browsing some with using Google Navigation, but still... that's not long at all!!! So, I decided to turn the GPS off when I'm not going to use Google Navigation, and WOW. It's 10:16, I've had it off the charger since 8:00 am this morning, and still reporting 40% battery! I've used it quite a lot today as well, as I use my phone for pretty much everything (coming from at&t and iPhone 3GS). Thought I would share this tip and hope it helps some of you guys (and gals) out there with your Droid batteries!

Now if they would only make an extended battery, we'd be in business...

The longest review you'll ever read - if you read it. - Part 1/2

Please note - the opinions expressed within are not necessarily those of the staff, family, friends, neighbors, pets, or other sentient beings connected in any way to Phonescoop.

Also be advised - this is a long read.

Okay, so I too fell under the magic special of the various commercials and hype surrounding this phone. I want to be cool just like everyone else! Sure I had the iPhone 3GS at the time and I looked really cool using it - but the Droid was even NEWER! I felt it was important to do my part for the economy and capitalism in general and run out and buy one of these babies - racking up another ETF along the way -. What's that you say? I'm an idiot? Fair enough, but I am a phone geek - Just like you….

Text Messaging status

Any idea why the message status of text message remains as "pending" when sending to non-Verizon?

EMAIL ISSUES

Does the phone have a built in time-out?
After a short time attempting to pull (hotmail)EMAIL (spinning icon), the device will often get a communication error.

Also, cannot access AKO via IMAP, which the iPhone does successfully.

The new email notification is very confusing as it does not reflect the true number of new emails received.

Anyway to clear the trash folder...even though the PC-hotmail trash bin is empty, the device holds everything in trash; is there anyway to SELECT ALL?

Battery issue

Anyone have a Motorola Droid where the battery status shows a constant full. I've had the Droid for a week now and the battery has been lasting about a day . . . all of a sudden yesterday I got through the day with 90% remaining.

I thought I struck upon the right combination of settings and usage to finally get two days but I was wrong. I shut the unit off over night and the next day it was totally drained.

How can the battery status be so off and not move?

How can I have juice the night before, power off the unit and be totally dead the next morning?

Any ideas?

WHY cant this thing do MORE?

ITS ACTUALLY A REALLY GOOD QUESTION the phone was marketed with over 10,000 apps my question is who needs these retarded apps anyway and who is making the ones that totally stink, the phone is missing one MAJOR problem i had solved with the voyager,, it had live video news like fox rhetoric and msnbc.. how hard is it for someone to forward the stream to the droid and maybe if it aint that hard i could make the app for everyone. and they gotta change the android market i hate scanning through thousands of dave chapplle sounboards.

Movies shortcut?

I've searched the entire phone, and I can't find the shortcut to the Movies application. The only way I can figure out to watch videos I've transferred to my device is to use a file browser to navigate to the file I want. Then it opens using Movies. Any ideas, besides downloading another media player?

over in the "Review: Motorola Droid" discussion:

Does it have a sensor on it for calls?

I am wanting to know if it has a sensor built-into it whereby when making calls and you place the phone up to your ear/face, the display/touchscreen will then disable so that buttons/widgets/etc aren't accidently pressed when the phone is put up to your face. My LG Touch has this, but the Storm1 didn't.

Texting More Than One Person or a Group???

Just got my droid and really like it but just discovered you can only text 1 person at a time!?!? Does anyone know of an app that will let me text more than 1 person &/or a specific group? Not having the ability to do this is pretty lame for an android phone. Thanks!

Is there a way I can program my password into the voicemail, so I don't have to enter it each time? I knew how to do this with all my previous LG phones, and I'm sure the it's possible on the Droid...

Stop Comparing it; Its No iPhone

I'll admit it. Its a nice phone with some potential, but in the end its just another phone trying to compete with the iPhone. Doesn't anyone get it; as long as you keep comparing the next best thing or the latest new phone to the iPHone your admitting that the iPHone is still on top.
When the iPhone came out did it compair itself to any of the other phones saying it was the better....NO it didn't and NO it hasnt. It stood on its own merits. So let the Droid stand on its own as well. If this phone thinks its better than the iPhone than it should prove it based on what it has BY ITS SELF 🙄
The iPhone (when first launched) came out swing and now based on the latest numbers is on the top.
The makers dont understand that Apple makes a p...

Some apps questions/comments...

- I don't need a wikipedia app, but think it would be nice to have. There's a few of them out there, does anybody recommend one over another?

- What is the best weather app? I have WeatherBug, and am happy with it, just wondering if there's something better.

- I'm currently using Astro to manage my files/folders, and it seems ok. I'd like to know if there is a cool photo viewer out there. PhotoBurst seems good, but you have to pay for the full version. Not saying I'm cheap, just most apps I've downloaded have been free... I wouldn't mind paying for a quality viewer, as I have over 600 pics, in various folders.

(non app questions, and this may have been answered in another thread..) How do I assign a specific text alert sound f...
