Battery issue

Anyone have a Motorola Droid where the battery status shows a constant full. I've had the Droid for a week now and the battery has been lasting about a day . . . all of a sudden yesterday I got through the day with 90% remaining.

I thought I struck upon the right combination of settings and usage to finally get two days but I was wrong. I shut the unit off over night and the next day it was totally drained.

How can the battery status be so off and not move?

How can I have juice the night before, power off the unit and be totally dead the next morning?

Any ideas?

Same thing happened to me. I just got the Droid yesterday, charged it up, played around with it till the battery was at 1/4 (no warning either). Turned it off overnight and then in the morning it was totally drained. I had to plug it in to my PC for about 15 min before it called out "DROID"!

I thought it was broken!
What it should do is... show some sign of life when powering it on. A blink, or something to indicate it's too low to start.

If you take a look at the moto droid forum, this is an issue that has already been reported to moto and they are trying to find what causes it. The problem is the device turning off, turning it off is causing the battery to drain faster than when it is on. so dont turn it off!
