Micro SD Formatting

Hello all,
I am new here and have a frustrating question.
I baught a new MicroSD card for my NEW i760 😁 . I used the card for a couple days in my old Samgsung u740 while waiting for the i760 to be delivered. Now it can't be read in the i760.

The REAL BIG problem is that there seems to be no formatting feature on the i760. That cannot be the case can it ?!?!?! 😕

Also I have misplaced the adapter 🤭 . The i760 won't even acknowledge that there is a card in the phone.

Needless to say the memory on the phone is now full and I can't use my new card. I need to get this card read so I can use it. 😁

Thanks.

i760 WiFi connection question

I ran a search for this and couldn't find an answer, hopefully you can help me. I also look over the manual and visited VZW's online tutorial for this phone and contacted Data Support.

I am trying to test the WiFi connection on my i760 and I am having a problem. I also have my laptop open just to reconfirm what the phone is seeing.

When I enable WiFi on i760 and look at the list of available ports, it shows about 6 or 7 available, but it doesn't tell me which ones are secure and which are open.

When I look at this list on my laptop I get twice as many ports and it shows me the open ones and it actually automatically tries to connect to open ports.

The i760 didn't show any open ones, pretty much all port it was showing were secure...

Buy Online vs. Wait for the In-Store Release Date

Are there more discounts online and is it cheaper to get the phone online or can I get the i760 for the same price if I wait to get it on or after Friday, Nov. 2nd (in-store release date)?

Getting Hotmail on i760

I just got my i760 and was trying to figure out how to get my hotmail on this thing. I noticed there is no Windows Live software installed on the i760. Does anybody know how to get hotmail on it? Also, can we download windows live software for the phone? Thanks.

HTML email?

I thought one of the features of Windows Mobile 6 was HTML email. My email doesn't look any different than what I had on my VX6700. What's up with this?

Anyone had a chance to REALLY compare the I760 against the PPC6800?

I would LOVE to hear your thoughts.

DUN working?

I tried to use my i760 for DUN via bluetooth with my Nokia N800. No go. It gave me an authentication error. Does anyone have this working? Do I need to pay for a tethering plan for this to work?

WM6 Where's the IM client? Or Live?

I thought I had Microsoft's Live service on my 6700 that I downloaded. I also thought WM6 was supposed to have the Live client as part of the OS. Where is it? In addition where's the Remote Desktop Client?

Notifications

I am trying to find the option, but I don't see anything that will light up the screen from sleep mode when I receive a text message. Only the light starts blinking.
Is there a way (like on the i730) that the screen turns on automatically when getting a message?

Thanks in advance.

PS - This phone is awesome

Lockups or many resets with i760?

Someone wrote in the review section that there i760 had so many lockups requiring resets that they are returning it.

Anyone else experience this or other issues where you would consider returning it?

I am a prospective buyer and have been looking (waiting) for this, the 6800 and Cingular 8925

Thanks so much

Memory Card Slot Question for SCH-i760

I don't know much about this subject, so I thought I'd ask before I buy this phone. I have a microSDHC card from Sandisk. Will that card be compatible with this phone? I'm set to get this phone, and want to know if I may have to get a card that's compatible with it. Thanks in advance! --gq

Customizing

Ok so I watched a video on youtube and now I am wondering how this guy got all of this on his phone. Do you download it from the phone or do you have to connect to your computer? I really like the address finder that he downloaded on his phone if you will watch the video you will see it and its pretty sweet. Also can I download Firefox on this phone? Or would Opera be better?

Adding 3rd Party Software

Is it me or do you have to reset the phone each and everytime you add a new program such as Spb Weather, Games etc? If you dont perform a soft reset it will not allow you to add any other programs. Anyone else experiencing this or did I just get a lemon?

Volume

I'm currently using the I730. Best phone ever except the ringer and notification volume. Has this been improved on the I760?

Flickering Screen on Landscape Mode

Anyone have a flickering screen when sufing the internet after it has been trying to download the page for a bit? It only happens after the backlight shifts from bright to the lowest setting and it is still loading a webpage. Seems like the phone is trying too hard and the light is flickering slowly. Only happens in when the QWERTY keyboard is out and the phone is in landscape. Anyone else have this same issue? If not please try and let me know.

Thanks

Camera on i760

I never understood why phone makers continue to place these large chrome bezels around the camera lens on these phones. The real camera lens is just a little dot no larger than a needle head. So WHY is there a 3/4" MASSIVE CHROME RING AROUND my i760 lens????

Its the stupidest thing ever introduced to phones and I see no reason for this trim ring other than to fool users into thinking they have a Carl Zeiss lens with a megapixel CCD.

Also the ring petrudes past the useless rubber feet on my i760. So when I place it flat on the table, the i760 is actually resting on the trim ring, not the rubber feet.

In all honesty I prefer not to have this chrome ring cause when I see something or someone I want to take a candid shot of, they will ...

Screen

Is it me, or does anybody else notice how much more liquid is in the screen than the i730. My old i730 screen was hard as a rock. This screen seems like a laptop screen. Every time I touch it, I get the streaks and blurs.
I am sure it is just then new type of screen. But then why the change, or does it take time to break in?
It just seems a little soft, and it seems like if I press to hard some day, it will damage it.

Question on Activesync & Outlook

Hi - so it seems that in order to sync this phone up with my computer, I need to have Outlook? So my question is, should I buy that, or are there other programs that you can use instead of Outlook that would be just as good if not better, and would allow me to sync up with my PC?

Wow, coming from an LG VX8100, this is rocket science! 😳 It is very cool tho and I'm sure I will love it even more when I get used to using it. Looks like it's gonna take awhile tho.... 😲
