Micro SD Formatting

Hello all,
I am new here and have a frustrating question.
I baught a new MicroSD card for my NEW i760 😁 . I used the card for a couple days in my old Samgsung u740 while waiting for the i760 to be delivered. Now it can't be read in the i760.

The REAL BIG problem is that there seems to be no formatting feature on the i760. That cannot be the case can it ?!?!?! 😕

Also I have misplaced the adapter 🤭 . The i760 won't even acknowledge that there is a card in the phone.

Needless to say the memory on the phone is now full and I can't use my new card. I need to get this card read so I can use it. 😁

Thanks.

Is it a 4GB? I was told that anything over 2GB would work.

It is a 2 gig card. It is just simply not reading it. And there is no feature to format the card on the phone. Has any of you had this problem?

Find the adapter. Reformat it on your PC. It is your only hope.

I read on another forum one of my co-workers showed me that there is a hack to support 4GB microsd cards on the i760. Wonder if it's any good.

Resco Explorer 2007 will format cards and it has a ton of cool features like a registry editor and ftp client with it as well. However you could almost buy a new card for a few more dollars than the software so this isn't a free solution.

If you don't want to spend as much there are a bunch of applications that will flash storage cards like this one.

I just haven't found any free applications.

I just put my Kingston 2gb Micro SD card in my i760 this morning... and it worked fine. No formatting, no nothing. I had first put it in my USB adapter to load some media files, then moved to the i760, no problems. But there was no "acknowledgment" or msg recognizing memory. Just to be safe, I powered down and powered back up. When I opened Media Player, I went to the library and there was "Storage Card" with all my files.

In Start - Settings - System tab- Memory there's a new tab called Storage Card. See if yours shows anything.

Hi, What do you mean by library? Do you mean file explorer?

In Media Player, you can first put media file into your "library". It lets you store info and sort by album, genre, artist, etc. also holds the playlists you may create. I think it's the library that holds the "meta-data" about the audio or video file. In windows mobile, the library needs to know whether you have the file on your storage card, or in the main memory. check it out... when you open media player, it's at the very top of the screen. also in the menu.
