Samsung i760 Contact Lookup Speed Question

I currently am a Q user and previous Treo 700w and before that a Samsung 730 user (I can go on, I have tried most of the Windows Smart phones). Since I use my smart phone as a serious business tool, I rely heavily on efficiency and mainly use basic functions (phone, bluetooth, calendar, contacts, tasks), and expect decent performance. So, does anyone know whether they (MS, Samsung, Intel) have solved the Contact Lookup delay issue by indexing these files? Every Smartphone I have used has not addressed the painstaking delay it sometimes takes to do basic lookup of contacts (I have over 3000). Basically is this a faster phone? Other related question, how quick can you make a call shortly after hangin up on another call? My experience wit...

Voice Dialing and Battery??

Can someone that owns one of these please comment on the voice dialing capabilities and on the battery performance of the phone.

Prior VZW WM phones had a crappy little app called Voice Speed Dial, but for REAL voice dialing you needed to buy Microsoft Voice Command (I have ver. 1.5 on my xv6700). I have read that this phoen COMES WITH Voice Command. Is that true? If not, will WM6 run Voice Command 1.5?

Please tell me that the battery performance is better than the xv6700!!!

Thanks

A wifi question

Hey folks! I'm pretty interested in this phone since it has wifi. I was wondering how using wifi affects the phone. If you are on the internet, and someone calls in, what happens? Can you make calls and simultaneously use wifi? Thanks!

i760 vs treos

I currently have a 700p but want to upgrade. I was considering the 755p until I saw the i760. Does anyone have an opinion on how these phones compare.I will have to pay full price so I don't want to make a mistake.

Was the online discount a glitch?

Yesterday morning while I was at work the phone would have cost me $99. Today it cost me $199. There was a $100 online disc, my NE2 disc and Device disc of $100. Now the online disc is gone. I spoke w/ cst ser and they keep telling me there was not a $100 online disc and that the advance device credit was the online disc? Am I missing something?? Any advice? The phone will eventually cost me $150 w/ mail in rebate, which is not bad at all. But if I can get the phone cheaper I want too.

i760 and Verizon

Hi all.
I work for a company that I have Internet but its very restricted and I can't view my Emails and chat on my Skype these two are very important as I do alot of business through these channels of communication. I have read alot about smart phones but still can’t make up my mind. I like the features of the i760 and that it has a touch screen, but is this phone really that good as for broadband internet and the applications that can go on it. Also can this phone be formatted and linux installed a mobile version of linux http://www.linuxdevices.com/articles/AT942308 4269.html other then that how is the i760 compared to the iMate KJAM? If someone could help me out that would be great.

need advice - just ordered i760, new convert from Palm OS...

Hello,
I have been using smartphones for many years, but always Palm OS. I currently use a Treo 650 for Palm on a Windows PC. I expect to receive my first Mindows Mobile smart decive (the Samsung I760) in a couple of days.

I know I will need to install MS Outlook on my PC. I use gmail as my email server. I have not used wireles sync, I sync my treo once or twice a week using USB. Most of my calendar entries are made for me on my PC's Palm Desktop by an employee, but I also make calendar entries directly in my treo.

How do I get my contacts from my Palm phone onto Outlook? Same for my memos and my to-do list? What will be the best way to sync my new smartphone? What is the best way to check my gmail on the new Samsung?

Thank you for...

Connection to Exchange Server

On a laptop, Outlook 2003 can be used in "Cached Mode" so that even without a data connection, whatever was synced to Outlook before the connection stopped (on a plane, etc), will stay in Outlook for off-line viewing and editing.

Do WM6 and the Mobile Office apps work the same way?

Wi-Fi

So, the phone has been announced for tomorrow, online. But although it mentions Wi-Fi in the 6800, it doesn't mention that on the i760. I know that the "leaked" phones were said to have had it. Does anyone know if Verizon took that off between the time of "accidently" sending out 40-60 i760's, and the official release? Or should it still have Wi-Fi, in which case, why didn't they say so on their press release?

😕

okay, im really confused....

so this phone comes out in store november 2, right? okay, so how does this 30 day worry free thing work, so i just bought the Razr2, but i really want this phone!!!. So i heard that if i dont return it and go back to my old phone i cant get my NE2 back. is this true? and if they subtract the difference, does that mean, that they will subtract the 249, that i paid for the razr from the retail price of the i760,or from the NE2 price of the i760? im so confused!!

can anyone straight me out, explain to me exactly how this works? oh, and will they take the rebate away from me?

someone plz, help, thanks 😕 🙂

No Rev A on i760

Currently on my GREAT E815.

I read a few posts that say that Rev A EV-DO will NOT be available on the i760.

I need a WM6 phone for business and I want to sync with Exchange via ActiveSync push to the phone.

Is it safe to assume that the Rev A capability on other phones would make them better for that purpose?

I was waing for the XV6800, but that thing may never happen.

Can someone please post a review based upon real world use of the i760? How's the standard battery perform? What is the good, the bad and the ugly?

Thanks

Samsung i760 is now available

I called Verizon's 800#, which is 800-922-0204 and was told that YES, the i760 is available. $400 for a 2 year contract but $50 off if eligible like I will be in December. It has GPS but no VZ Navigator. The first smartphone to get VZ Nav will be a Blackberry 8830, or perhaps the BB Pearl 2, I'm not sure. Date unsure. Its not clear how many more months it'll be before VZW makes its smartphones VZ Nav compatible.
Roger

Hmmmmmm....I've been kind of thinking hard about this. I plan to sit tight till next year, and get a nice Smartphone that *will* have VZ Nav., and hopefully HTC will make one that will fit the bill. Or by then the i760 will be upgraded to do VZ Nav. It has to be Windows Mobile 6 or Palm, and not Blackberry because of the so...

People expect tooo much

Your right some phones look better than other it's all a matter of personal opinion. I'm not saying it looks better. IF you think about it though
-3mp+ camera are great for photos but any good photo you want to send to your friends. 2mp is to big to send as an mme(pix msg)
-Capabilities- phones will only do what the network will allow. GSM Phones are not fast with data. HSDPA and UMTS were supposed to have been launched in 05. Still waiting for faster than dial-up speeds.
-Style- it honestly sounds like you want more looks than functionality. If i am spending this much money on a phone I want it to work right not just look cool.
~HATERZ~Non of you will ever be satisfied so all you want to do is rag on the phones that have potential...

i760 is OUT?

I got a call from my friend at Verizon YESTERDAY (10/10) and he told me the i760 is finally out. I didn't get a chance to speak to him till this morning and he confirmed it. He is a business rep so I'm assuming it's only available through b2b channels. I don't want to doubt him and I don't know how wide of a release this is so can soneone else confirm this?

Photo Comparison: i760, ATT Tilt, and XV6800 (Sprint &VZW)

Photo Comparison of XV6800 Sprint and Verizon) to the i760 as well as the ATT Tilt.

What the heck did VZW do to the 6800??? They botched it up with electric blue. This may fly for West Hollywood, but not me. I still like the i760, though am now a little dissapointed it seems bigger than the 6800.
