southwestcomm said: Ummmmm no.... Verizon's PTT is limited to their 1RXTT network areas and it does not work when roaming or in analog areas. Actually a much smaller coverge area than Nextel. Having two numbers - one for cell one for PTT - is better. If I don't want to give someone the ability to PTT me I don't have to. With Verizon having one number means less privacy.Another example of how Verizon sabotaged it's own product before it even left the gate.

Game selection in Get It Now...

Compared to the v710 I had, the game selection on the 9900 is less. Is that because it doesn't support Java? I was looking forward to a few like Baldurs Gate. Anyone know for sure why this is?

I really hate (Cingular) because they stole my (life) and made me have to (dance) for (the rest of my life). Then they told me to (screw) a (cactus) and to my (dismay) I told them I wanted to (die). I couldn't believe they would (speak) to me! Of all the (goats) in the (rainforest), I am a (cumquat). They then (managed) to (smash) me into (a crackpipe). I threw my (blood) at the (spaceship) out of (joy). I told (Cingular) to (increase) their attempt to (beat) me (rapidly). Now I (crawl) at night and (pickle) my (knee) like a (tuna). I am going to (roll) (Cingular) to the (GOlden Gate Bridge). They gave me (Crabs). A little more difficult than expected.

RPI Wireless Cable and Programs Problems
by siconomt    Jan 21, 2005, 8:55 PM
in the LG VX-6100 forum

Anyone having difficulty installing this equipment which is supposed to charge the 6100, allow the installation of calendar from Outlook, pictures, and ring tones. No manual accompanies the cable and CD; worse, "runtime error 380" pops up and crashes installation right out of the gate. Clues would be appreciated. The cable charges the phone just dandy, btw. But I want to control pics and ringers. Help! Thanks. BTW, RPI is slow to fill their orders on this equipment--took me a month to get it.

:x Len Lauer (President of Sprint PCS) Question If any sprintpcs employee read this Please forward it up the chain as high as you can thank you Will Sprint PCS ever release the Audiovox 6600(PPC-6600 The one With the Camera)? Please stop delaying this phone/pocket pc and just release it. Hopefully it will support EVDO and Wifi Hopefully somebody at Sprintpcs management level will read this. I would hate for Verizon to release this phone and for sprintpcs to end up with egg on their face again. Remember the Samsung i700 and sprints reply the G1000 (brick). Come on sprint please make everybody happy and stay one step ahead of verizon and RELEASE IT. Then you can advertise the 6600 in all the magazines and on TV because you will be first out of the gate with it!!!! :D :D :D Thank You

Cingualr has APPROVED the v635. I have seen no sku number for either phone. I keep inventory in a retail store & attend conference call all of the time on new equipment. The v635 WAS approved last week, as for the other two I haven't seen anything on it as of yet. It my happen in other markets but as for the three state region that I work in I haven't seen it yet. I can admit when I am wrong, & maybe I am IF infact these phones are in other markets. I just dont see Cingular takeing on another phone that has issues straight out of the gate. The Samsun E317 issues was a nightmare to all, & I just don't see Cingular takeing that chance again. I DO knoe that the v635 is on the way mid march to early APRIL

Its hard to say at this point. New phones don't usually get the phat mail in rebates right out the gate, but I'm hopeful the Amazon price stays more or less the same. Either way, I'm getting this phone! 8)

Anyone have a link to a good (and free) MP3 editor? For shortening MP3's for ringtones. Thanks.

Dropped Calls Gallore !!!
by tnyflrs    Mar 13, 2005, 10:29 AM
in the AT&T forum

I know 3 account holders who one has 3 services on an ATT shared plan (GSM), the second 2 on Cingular family plan (less than 30 days migrated) and lastly one person on an ATT plan (GSM). All these accounts' holders don't known each other or associated in any way other than they know I work for Cingular. The first account holder with 3 services began complaining of dropped calls for at least 4 weeks by now. They (all 3) claim that during a call unexpectedly goes dead air but looking at the phone counter and online view minutes the system claims more minutes of duration. For example a call that goes dead air within the first minute, the phone will appear continuation of such connection for at least another 2 minutes (which of course is inquorate due to the seconds counter versus service minutes increment counter), but viewing minutes online and waiting for invoice to print out there are no credits for dropped calls and such calls are counted the additional minutes. The other person recently was migrated when she called to complain of same issue as the one above. This person was migrated due to repeated calls claiming same issue as the one above and was told to replace phones but now with Cingular the issue continues the same and now with static. The third person has not migrated but complains of same issue as the others. All are located in Los Angeles having issues from Cerritos (close to former ATTws headquarters), Downey, Lynwood, and South Gate. None of the account holders know each other and all want out as every time they call they get the run around specially the migrated one with multiple calls lasting at least one hour and been transferred many times always arriving to various departments that simply don't handle her issues. All 3 account holders and users have different make and model of phones to implied the equipment is the issue. The first 3 their phones are less than one year old, the second are less than 30 days, and last one is less than 6 months old. All of them are for sure going to Verizon (the first 3 at once were Verizon and know of service integrity all around) the other 2 are considering it due to knowledge of other people with better service. I have been trained to take orange calls but my Clarify permissions were revoked so I haven't been able to take calls at all (management is working on issue) but many of my colleagues mentioned to me that lately have been receiving calls of customers calling with identical issues of dropped calls or simply connect status but no call. I know that Cingular doesn't own any network at all in California and has a contract with TMobile for at least 2 more years and is relying heavily on ATT network, but TMobile has the right to shove Cingular's and ATT's customer's to the bottom of network availability and as of today Sunday, March 13, 2005 all Cingular customers will be restricted from using the TMobile's network in Oregon. Many representatives at the call center I work from are not to happy about the cold transfer policy to other departments we are told will solve the issue for the customer but simply are put on hold and next thing are greeted by another person who simply can't assist the customer.

I agree with you that VZWs PTT was a disaster originally, it has gotten better however. I think that VZW should have came out of the gate w/ the PTT at $10 less than NXTL on comparable plans just to try to attract some customers, you know just as well as I do that there is a large chunk of the market that ONLY looks at price, regardless of what they get,

things to consider

First of all I dispute even the idea that it would be hazardous to allow mobile phone operation. If this were seriously a threat you'd have seen terrorists lining up at each and every gate with their cell phones. Second if this were possible I must say I am terrified that systems which could not handle interference like that were ever allowed to fly. Courtesy would have to be the absolute rule of usage. Please limit calls in length, please keep voices low, hold to reasonable public conversation etc. etc. who knows if it would work. seperate cabins seems like a bad idea though too, it would be an uncomfortable place, especially since people would think they could take advantage of it.

It's not that using your phone would necessarily wreak havoc. But there have been instances where a navigation system acted erratically (didn't go haywire - just it wasn't as accurate as it should have been) and someone was using a cell phone onboard at the time. Was it a coincidence? Maybe. But it seems that the authorities have taken a better-safe-than-sorry approach in response to the possibility, which you really can't fault them for.
