All...I spend 6000-8000 minutes a month on the phone (I'm in sales) and currently own the LG PM325. Signal strength sucks....for those of you WHO HAVE OWNED THE 5600 FOR A WHILE NOW...please respond with your feelings about the signal strength? Does it live up to the Sanyo name?

Yes and no... In my home and at work my older sanyos (5150, 5300, 8100, 5500) ALL showed great signal strength...even though I occasionally lost a call or two when en route or the party on the other end would say I sounded "digital"

This phone shows less signal in the same locations but it is very consistent and all my calls sound great. It DOES explain why the video doesn't stream at home so well. It seems you need a good solid 2-3 bars of signal on this phone to smoothly stream video.

Phone calls work great and haven't dropped a call since I got the phone Thursday. I'm only a 1600-2000 min per month user, though.

All in all, a simple PRL update could change the indicated signal strength.

Doesn't the PRL update only impact the ability to ROAM better? Also...where did you purchase your phone? Any tips on cheaper venues?

Nope! Bought it a telesales. And yeah the roaming can be updated automatically. I'm just saying it hasn't been yet. I'm sure it will be but hey! The phone is just barely out the gate!

In any Sprint phone, if you are having problems with your signal (even in clear areas), try dialing *18. This 5 second procedure will redirect the phone's transmission to a different cell tower.

Hope this helps in your signal issues.
