Re: Can you make your own ringtones for the SK3?

I don't know why people keep insisting that you can't make your own ringtones for this phone. YOU CAN. I made all of my own ringtones for my Hiptop2. I can't imagine that the next model would be any different in this regard. You're limited to 10, and it's best to keep the files under 100K to avoid having the Hiptop/Sidekick do its own compression, but all you have to do is email yourself a wav file. When the email is opened on the Hiptop/SK, you are given the option to save it as a custom ringtone.

Things to Improve: 1.better web browser...and a scroll button kinda like the sidekick 2. The inside screen is big and beautiful..but u why not make it a lil wider..theres space for it..u see that gray part? it would look real nice if it was wide screen. 3. Im a heavy user and battery gets low after couple hours of listenin Mp3s and surfin the web...so battery life could be improve.. 4. The UI and graphics could be design better.. 5. Camera could be improve to 2 megapixel thats bout it. Its hard to find flaws to this phone..i dont mind the size cuz i feel it needs to be this big in order to be comfortable and have the features it has...besides it feels like i could drop it from the 10th floor and still wont break. :)

cingular rep who wants to call a truce

Hello Verizon, I have been working as a sales rep for Cingular for 2 years now and it always seems to be "cingular vs verizon". Its understandable, we are the two biggest carriers out there. I get more Verizon ports than any other carrier just as im sure you guys get more Cingular ports than any other carrier. When people come in and ask me "who really gets better coverage cingular or verizon?" I always answer the same "well mr/mrs customer, it depends on where you are, and where you are going" Lets, as rivals, agree on a few things. 1. Our coverage is pretty much neck and neck. Independet research A may say Verizon has the best network while independent research B may say Cingular does. But lets just concede that we are both pretty much the same as far as coverage. There are places where cingular gets service and verizon doesnt just as there are places where verizon gets coverage and cingular doesnt. Like I tell my customers, it depends on your calling area. Deal? 2. Our rate plan prices are the same. I will concede that you guys offer the "IN" texting which is something that Cingular needs to jump on. Unfortunatly I dont see that much of a need for it. Our media packages are well priced and tend to be suitable for most of our customers. Other than feature packages, we are both the same. 3. Our phone lineups tend to shift, for a while Cingular was rockin with exclusives (razr, treo 650 etc...) 2006 saw verizon getting some great handsets while cingular fell behind. Honestly I think t-mobile is kicking both of our asses in the handset department though (blackberry pearl is gonne be awesome for them) 4. You get good and bad customer service reps, its like that with any company. I dont think our customer service problems stem from bad reps, i think it stems from bad policies. I have to talk to CS reps everyday and they are always respectful and nice. I hear just as many horror stories about verizon CS as I do about cingular. T-mobile, again, is wasting both of us. But I honestly think thats because t-mobile tends to give a lot of stuff away. They credit things that neither of us would, and you can basically renew your contract whenever you want (i had a friend sign a two year with t-mobile to get a razr and two months later renew it to get a sidekick). SO.....lets be friends, our companies arent as different as we would like to think are they?
