LG V VX-9800
New Version of 9800?
Does anybody know of a new version of the 9800 is coming out ne time soon

i haven't read anything from anything on an official website for lg or verizon or anything, but i have heard rumors on forums and blogs that there is an updated version coming out in september, the lg vx9900/v. i'm not sure what's up with it cuz i haven't looked into it, but it's a place to start.

thats what I heard aswell, though I'm pretty sure it's not coming out in september since they just released a new verizon phone and haven't been hyping the 9900. Just my $0.02

I also heard this news but i was trying to think of what they would update on the new V. I mean the only things that i could think of would be adding stereo bluetooth to it and a micro/Transflash memory cardslot to it to make it thinner. I mean look at the LG 8100 and 8300 pretty much the same phone only the 8300 has micro sd instead of the 8100 having minisd and its a bit thinner. Other than that, right now the 9800 has evertying you need on it. And Jmdizzle, your right, Neither Verizon nor LG has been advertising this so called phone too much cause they just put out the LG 8500/Chocolate so who knows what's gonna happen. just my $.02 cents also.

Things to Improve:
1.better web browser...and a scroll button kinda like the sidekick
2. The inside screen is big and beautiful..but u why not make it a lil wider..theres space for it..u see that gray part? it would look real nice if it was wide screen.
3. Im a heavy user and battery gets low after couple hours of listenin Mp3s and surfin the web...so battery life could be improve..
4. The UI and graphics could be design better..
5. Camera could be improve to 2 megapixel
thats bout it. Its hard to find flaws to this phone..i dont mind the size cuz i feel it needs to be this big in order to be comfortable and have the features it has...besides it feels like i could drop it from the 10th floor and still wont break. 🙂

Yes there is an LG 9900 that will be released by Verizon within a few months.
1. It has a micro SD
2. A 2 megapixel camera with a lens shudder.
3. Is slimmer and opens up slightly differently...you may or may not like it.
4. Is slightly lighter.
There is no scroll bar and the screen looks about the same. No idea if the battery life is improved or not either. I do not use the phone as my personal so I can't get into details, but at least you have some confirmations with regards to the new device.
