I'm only going to say this once

I'm a little confused by all of the posts on here...some say it will read mp3s...some say it won't...so I'm here to set the record straight. I have been able to copy MP3 files directly to my phone using a LG VX7000 data cable and software called QPST...or you could also use BITPIM. I have had no problems with the phone reading the .mp3 extension. However, it is probably best to follow the instructions and change the extension to .qcp for best compatibility with the phone. (you do this by going to tools/folder options/then select the view tab/then make sure HIDE EXTENSIONS FOR UNKNOWN FILE TYPES IS _UNCHECKED_!!!) Then go back to your mp3 files and just change the end of the file name to .qcp - very easy) I have been able to transfer mp3s to both my ringtones folder as well as just into my mp3 player, without going through all that menu, 0000000, etc, etc. hassle. These are the instructions I followed to get mp3 ringtones into my phone: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.p hp?t=673700 As for transferring mp3 in for just general listening pleasure...I followed the following instructions: I was only able to play 30 seconds of an mp3 song when putting the files in my_sounds directory on the mem card and renaming them *.qcp (i believe). This frustrated me so.... I went to try to put video on the phone and found this program Xilisoft 3GP Video Converter(supports 3GPP2) found on www.xilisoft.com. I then converted one mpeg4 video and also converted a MP3 music file to 3g2 file format. I put both in the MY_FLIX OR MY SOUNDS folder on the Memory Card (the path is: mmc1/my_sounds I think) and then went to Get it Now menu and my FLIX OR MY SOUNDS. Voila! The whole MP3 music song played as well as the video when I tried that too. However the video was not as crisp as one I downloaded from VCAST. **NOTE: If you transfer the mp3 to the FLIX folder it will not play as loudly on the phone as when you transfer it to the my sounds folder.
