Im very picky about my cell phone. I like the smaller style phones. Verizon has large phones while I like their service. I currently have cingular and i have a crappy phone (samsung e317 which was just discontinued). I was wondering if verizon will have any new SMALLER phones coming out? Cingular service is not good in my area. If verizon isnt and cingular is, i might be able to handle it with a new phone for a while.

Does anyone know of any new phones that may be coming out from Verizon soon? I'm a bit torn on getting a new phone and I was going to get the Audiovox 6600 but it's kind of bulky. I was wondering if any similar, sleeker phones would be out soon.

Was wondering if anyone else knew anything about Disney Mobile. Supposedly Disney is going to start to provide wireless services. However Disney is supposed to be a MVNO provider which means that they don't have their own infrastructure. They just use other networks like Cingular.

From what I learned, Cingular will be carrying ONLY Nokia candy bar style handsets. Which means the newest Moto phone following the Razr will not be sold. This was confirmed by a sales rep. but we all know that can't be the final word. 😕

Spoke to a Motorola marketing rep who is testing the i870. According to him it has a 1.3 megapixel camera, MP3 player with external controls, micro SD card, and Bluetooth. It will be a silver/pearl color. Should be available by Nov/Dec. He spoke very highly of it (of course).

Does anyone have any news regarding alltel? Like new phones, mergers, anything.

I heard a rumor, Verizon would be mandated somewhere out in the 2 year time frame to convert from CDMA to GSM, any truth to this. I can't believe this, never the less I bring it up in the Rumor Mill Forum. Can anyone clarify this? Thanks. 🙄

well i switched from a v600 on tmo and got the v710 on vzw solely for voice dialing. other than the v265, no other phone or carrier has that kind of speaker-independant voice dialing. with that in mind...

i loved that connectivity usb cable. i transferred all my pictures, ringtones, etc. rite there. little did i know, vzw limited the functions of the cable. (i knew about the bluetooth issues, but i didnt think that it applied to the cable itself). if i were vzw, id be happy that they were one of the biggest carriers with the largest coverage area.

so my question is, is cingular that penny-pinching? are the motorola phones fully compatible with the usb cable?

Interesting article. With T-Mobile's subscriber growth slowing consideribly, I'm sure it cost the german government quite a bit to continue to operate it.

The thing with this article, is that it ONLY notes one of Verizon's parents Vodafone as a potential buyer.

C'mon Cingular!!! I know you just spent 41 billion but drop another 30 and put so much room between you and everyone else it isn't even a contest.

Triton PCS CEO Mike Kalogris is rumored to be looking for investors to purchase T-Mobile...Anyone heard anything about this?

Ive recently heard that ATTWS is going to relaunch after they merge with Cingular. I heard the ATTWS was going to be yet another reseller on the Sprint Network. Anyone wanna shed some light on this?

How many resellers are there on the Sprint network and why would anyone choose the smallest network out there?

i went to the cingular shop today and asked the sales guy when the a630 was coming out. he said it would be out before christmas and that it would work with at&t sim cards

Last week Cingular and Blackberry announced that Cingular would begin selling the Blackberry 7100g on February 14th. On the 14th, the link to purchase the phone was posted on the Cingular website.

On the 15th, the link was removed as well as any reference to the phone. Several calls were made to Cingular. Service technicians were showing the phone as in inventory, but the order processing system would not allow them to sell the phone. Several escalations to supervision later were fruitless as Cingular representatives have no idea of what is going on, or when and if the phone will be available.

Does anyone have any additional information???

🙄 Ok today I heard a rumor that Cingular was going to close it's Corporate owned stores and just keep the indirect dealers. Anyone else out there heard such an absurd thing?? That would make no sense but, what does anymore.

I bought a phone today from US CELLULAR and noticed they had some phones on their rebate form that they were not carrying in their stores. When I asked the sales person about it they said they had no idea they were even getting these phones. I am an avid viewer of phonescoop.com and recognized one of them as the new PTT phone for Verizon. After further research of each of the phones on the rebate form about 50% of the phones are Verizon or Alltel phones that US Cellular does not even have out. Much less, why would US Cellular be puting out a PTT phone when they do not have the capability? The answer is easy, hooking up with the other big hitters! Can not wait to see what happens by the end of this summer.

Anyone know when the new samsung e217 will be available for Cingular?

Okay so I need help: My Verizon contract is up very soon, and I don't know if I want to renew. I have been very pleased with Verizon in LA- I usually have reception in basements and things like Disneyland, the Bev Center (a tough one!) where others don't. But I keep hearing all of this hype on Cingular and GSM since the merger and I do like some of their features like rollover minutes and the fact that you can download free ringtones. (Verizon makes you use Get It Now which is sort of a rip-off.) And of course, Cingular has supercool (yet somewhat overrated imo, RAZR.) Their phone selection overall is just WAY better than Verizon.
