I wanted to get the inside scoop from the cellular cognoscenti. I am up for a new phone about min-Nov. and would like to hear you recommendations for a new phone, or to hear if anything new is going to be released in the near term. Let me know your thoughts on what is the best of the best. My main requirement is it must be small enough to keep in my pocket. I have seen the a970 / a950 and those both look to be good choices.

With EVDO phones about to be released, and Sprint TV being horrible right now, is there a phone I can look forward to in the next few months on the Sprint network?

My primary desires are driving-directions and potentially a good enough camera so I don't need to buy a digital camera. MP3s playback wouldn't hurt, and good multimedia would be nice.

On that note, are there WEB sites that utilize the MM line of phones, or are they just useful for Sprint TV?

My phone has needed replacing for a long time now, and I suppose I can endure another few months. Just hoping someone had a light at the end of a tunnel so I can put off my thoughts of getting an MM-A880, A800 or MM-8300 right now.

I was wondering if it is possible to make a GSM 900/1800/1900 phone work on a GSM 850 frequency? If there is a way, would it be hard? thanks

Do you think all cellular communications workers should be unionized. Cingular is unionized. There trying to unionize Verizon Wireless. Does ATTWS & Nextel employees feel a union will help them. What do you think?

I currently have a contract with Cellular One with another year to go. However, I am not very happy with customer service or my phone. I am considering buying out my contract and switching to Cingular.

I know that Cingular and Cellular One use the same GSM technology, but I have also heard rumors about Cingular switching/upgrading their technology. Can someone please clarify that for me?

Also, I've heard rumors about Cingular introducing a push to talk service, can anybody tell me when this is supposed to begin? Any news about a fee for it?

I'm thinking of going with the Nokia 6102 if I do go. I've always had great luck with Nokia phones, hopefully their clamshell designs will be as good as the flat ones.

I"ve heard this somewhere... is it true? Is sprint/nextel purchasing alltel?

While speaking to a T-Mo salesman today at a T-Mo store in Manhattan, in response to my asking if they had any Treo 600's in stock, he said "sorry, we're out of stock on the 600 and i don't know if we're getting the 650."

Please note that i said nothing about the 650, but it was clearly on his mind.

I just hope they make a decision by the beginning of December when i'll be eligible to upgrade my Blackberry to a Treo and renew my T-Mo service.

I just read that Cingular's PTT service has been pushed back until November. I've been looking into buying a new phone for awhile now and do not want to wait that long. Could I just buy a compatible phone now and sign up for the PTT service later? The phones they are launching don't have many great features. What should I look for in a compatible phone for Cingular PTT? Anyone?? Thanks.

Does anyone knoe if Sprint will come out with a phone that both Sprint & Nextel customers can use? I heard rumors about a phone with "Sprint" svc and the walkie-talkie (not ready link) that Nextel provides.

I know that the Q is coming out pretty soon, you can pretty much pre-order it. Will it be compatible with T-Mobile's blackberry email push?
I have a Blackberry and would like to get the Q but don't know if it would be compatible especially being on the Blackberry plan. Can anyone comment? 😉

LG F7200 to show up in mid-June....another slider. Hopefully improved on the F9100.

Not sure about specifics as we just got our proto version the other day. Not terribly optimistic; LG tends to make phones I would like to use as projectiles or ornaments or something...

Anyone know when it is coming out for Cingular? What about T-Mobile? Any other new phones worth looking for that are small and flip? Verizon phones? Help me out here!!
