Old people with smart phones

FAIL!!

Droids, apple, palms etc...

Please don't purchase a gift for your parents that is somthing that they can find more complicated than a remote control for there cable television. Keep it simple..on my behalf. thanks.

No ID?? Seriously???

Customer: I want 2 touch screen android phones for free.

Me: Great! Can I get your driver's license or state ID #?

Customer: I don't have one

Me: Do you have any identification?

Customer: No

Me: Great! We'll just send both of those phones out to you today and throw in a few extra for good measure. Please stand on your front porch and let me know when they arrive.

The HTC EVO is a pain in my ars

I am so tired of getting calls saying "Do you have the EVO?" AHHHHHH So many people want this phone!

People come in and say "Do you have the EVO?" and then follow up with "What does it do?" It does you dishes I like to say... Really!!! If you don't know anything about it then why do you want it so bad? GET OUT

Alright I'm done I had to get that out!

Microsoft Syncing with Andriod?

Does anyone know it's possible to sync an Android phone with microsoft? I have someone who wants to use the Samsung Intercept with her business email and calender. I know that the email will work but I am not sure if the calendar will sync or not.....

Thoughts and ideas greatly appreciated.

This happened to a co-worker of mine on my day off (thank god) but i did watch the cameras when i was told the next day. The customer was a rather overweight woman interested in the pre-paid phones. One of the requirements was she wanted the phone to be small, why? because her boyfriend was in jail and she was planning on inserting the phone in the nastiest, darkest, std infested area of her body ๐Ÿ˜ณ ๐Ÿ˜ณ

This is what a customer just asked me in reference to his Texas Hold'em high scores. He doesn't want the other people on the high score list to change his score, so it must be saved on our encrypted secure closed-circuit server (his words).

I told him that it was.

Customers who won't shut up

So...I just spent 10 minutes listening to some idiot ramble on about how he converted his individual plan to a family plan and only recieved one free phone. He is a loyal customer of 6 years and should have received 2 phones blah.blah.blah.yak yak yak

He just wouldn't stop repeating himself so I let him keep talking.

Finally when he was all done, I said.

Sir, you're eligible for a full upgrade on your existing line.

All I could think of was that I should have added "and if you would have shut the F up 15 minutes ago I would have taken care of you then instead of listening to your pity story about how you were mistreated"


Anyone else dealing with customers who don't know when to shut up?

8 things i wish the system had or did

1.Idiot Kill Button ..
ok put your fingers on the silver circles and one sec while i send the fix signal "ZAP" "THUD"

2.automatic record and transcriptions of calls
so when the customer says read the notes it's all in the notes
i don't get CCI VID ABT BIL EDU BIL
and ability to throw convo's in customer's Face... SEE I/THEY/WE DID TELL YOU THE RIGHT THING! You're making **** up and i can prove it! log into your account and you can listen to it..

3. An information system that combines the search ability of google with update ease of wikipedia and the knowledge accuracy of Encyclopedia Britanica

instead of now which the info system is a combo of most senior floor rep " hey is bill here? I have a question about this plan from 20...

Tip for those looking for jobs:

1. Don't walk into my store with a wrinkled shirt. I won't even interview you or take you seriously.

2. Try smiling. Seriously.

3. Avoid food stains on your clothes and try not to smell like an ashtray. Seriously, I smoke and I can smell that crap from a mile away.

4. DON'T SPEAK IN EBONICS TO ME. You sound like a retard, seriously, you sound like a completely retarded person. I don't care, you are NOT getting the job.

5. Stop complaining about your old job. It's probably your fault you got fired, tell me you are looking for a better opportunity, something, ANYTHING but "I hate that place, I want to work somewhere else." It makes you look incompetent.

6. Are you really going to spend half of the interview asking about vac...

...come on Reps!

I'll make the intro on this quick; the last call I had just irritated the crap out of me because what the last rep did was against policy and opened up the company for potential liability. Plus, you know, we just did this crap in Knowledgant... then again, I may be the only one who reads anything pertaining to legal matters anyways.

Do NOT give out phone numbers or confirmation if ANY number has been called/call was received on a customer's account. That is a major NO we learned in T-bay; the customer won't be happy, but if they need to know that bad? They will hit a library or a friend's house with interwebs access and go look it up themselves.

If they get uppity about it? Let them know the only way we can even remotely release those...

Paying bills - yourself

Customers look at me crazy when I say "You could do this on your phone just enter the cc or debit card online or with the phone in your hand".

I'm trying to save them a trip every single month to the store. Jeez!

Human Communication - Americans (hypothesis)

To share a thought...

Americans are considered: blunt, abusive, and demanding by other countrymen. My hypothesis is that this is based on a retail experience.

The retail experience causes ppl to be cold and calloused because the customers are hard on us, either by stupidity or rudeness. They wear you down. So when a foreigner comes in to the states they are treated the same, or even less due to a communication barrier. If a US consumer travels abroad, their stupidity or perceived rudeness (normal stateside) creates this bad perception by other countries.

So do the consumers of other countries have better education or better manners to treat their retailers? Is this because they work harder, due to being poorer and not the top of th...
