I really hate Sundays

My least favorite day of the week... definitely. Other than it's my long shift (which I finally cut down to 9 hours instead of 12 because the 12 was just too much to stand...) it really is "I'm an @$$H013" day.

Why can't people answer simple questions...

"Thank you for calling BigPink, my name is Niki, may I have your name please?"

"I need ... "

"Alright, and can I have your name please?"

"Why do you want it."

"So I know who I'm talking to."

Why is that so freaking hard? It's an easy question, in theory you know your own name. I am always suspicious of people who don't want to give me their name, makes me think there is fraud involved and I'm more likely to fire off a message to my boss once I'm off the line... plus ...

Why is it so hard to understand?

"Last four of the account holder's social."

Not, "well do you have the phone?"
Not, "what's your last name?"
Not, "well you're not the account holder but what's the last four of your social?"

Seriously, people, it's not that hard. Unless you have the last four of the account holder's social, there's no way to get into the account; there's no magic button I can press that lets me bypass those security measures.

serves him right

I had a person who came in and was complaining about not receiving the rebates on the phones he purchased. I had talked to him before and I figured he had just came back when I wasn't there. I look up the account and found out it was bought on wirefly. I know theres nothing I can do but since this guy has an attitude and he wasted my time I decided to mess with him. I took at least 20 minutes sitting there reading cnn, pretending like I was calling my manager. and then finally I told him no sorry theres nothing I could do. he was so pissed it was great. he wasted my time and didn't even buy the phone at my store so I returned the favor.

Samsung 570

Customer is out of area (in a Nationwide Plan) and has set the phone for level 5 ringtone and vibrate. It's ringing level 1 and no vibrate. In the icon area for rings, it alternates from the little music symbol (for ring) the vibrate signal and another symbol that looks like an AA, anybody know what that means? He's 4 hours away and can't bring the phone in for me to look at and something tells me that it has to do with him being out of area. Could it be that he's got the thing set different for roaming calls? I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

I understand YOU, why dont YOU understand ME?!

Woman comes in, says she was lied to, says the rep told her that her NEW plan would be the same amount of money as what she was paying before.

Before: 65 dollar share plan, consistently goes over minutes, bills range from 85 to 130. I averaged it out over 6 months to 97.xx bills.

She gets her first bill for new plan, its 99.xx (because the NEW plan is about 20.00 more than the old one, but covers her overage)

Her: I just get tired of being lied to, and this makes me want to call a TV station on you all
Me: If I may interject a question, if you were always going over your minutes before, then maybe she meant "Youll be paying about the same amount, factoring in your overages"..
Her: Im tired of always being told Im wrong when Im the...

Weirdest thing...

Hey Guys first time poster long time reader.

So I work for a store location in LA and on a semi-quiet day a stocky guy in a plaid shirt with a bushy beard comes in. I approach him and ask "Aren't you George Lucas?" He said yes and I told him I was a big fan. He starts asking questions and I'm doing my best to assist. Next thing I know he is giving me a hard time about getting a Treo 700w for free because he is George Lucas. I try to explain that I was sorry but I just couldn't do that. He then says "You want to give me the phone for free." while waiving his hand in front of me like some Jedi mind trick. I kinda chuckle and tell him again that I'm sorry but I just can't do that. He turns in a huff and walks out. A few minutes lat...

Rubbing it in your face

I hate this ****.

Customer: "You know, wireless carrier X is offering this great deal on Y and Z, why aren't you guys doing something like that?"

Me: "Ill be sure to bring that up at the next board meeting."

F*cking brain dead customers

I hate when stupid people walk by and say stuff like "Man...Verizon must be better. Cingular just has a little booth. Verizon has a STORE...."

Are you really that f*cking stupid? How does this affect the quality of service and reception or phones or anything for that matter?

What's Up?

Hey everybody,
Hope the Weirdest Thing thread was slightly amusing for everyone on a Sunday. Been reading phonescoop for a long while but just now got around to registering. I am a customer care rep for VZW out of NC. Some days these posts are the only thing keeping me going through the day. Keep up the good stuff.

I want coverage in front of the Qwest kiosk

A guy that has been standing in front of the Qwest kiosk next to us for like half an hour just came up to our kiosk. He asked if we had any coverage plans, which I mentally translated as our rate plan brochures.

Since we have two different brochures (one for individual and one for family plans) I asked if he was interested in one line or a family plan. He said he just wanted to see our coverage plans.

I handed him the brochure and, knowing that the maps are not up to date and also very small and it can be hard to figure out if you will get coverage in a smaller town, I asked him where he was looking to use his phone. His reply was to point at the Qwest kiosk and mutter some nonsense while walking back to them. I'm fairly sure we wo...

So you had a bad day.

Why is it that today sucks so bad. Why is every customer that comes in complaining about their service or their phone. Why are these everyone else's customers and I am dealing with them? Why are all of our other stores slammed selling mad phones and I am stuck fixing their problems? Why do people think I know exactly what is wrong with their phone after I fix it and I tell them I don't know why it wasn't working when they brought it in here but I turned it off and back on and now it works and they still want further explanations. I am going to drink myself retarted and have liver damage because people are so stupid and unreasonable.

Crazyness

This is honestly 200 yards away from my store. And my boss wonders why I won't take the trash out at night to the dumpsters by smiths.

RED MOTORAZR V3m

I can't wait until we can get one of these in our store because I know I'll be eBaying my Samsung A920 and sporting the RED MOTORAZR V3m. There are many causes I personally support and there are various ones pertaining to Africa I am actively involved with at the moment. I feel $64.99 with a 2 year contract isn't a bad price point for the phone when you consider proceeds from it will be used for various relief and research projects in Africa. Plus it'll be coming with a RED headset. More than likely, the headset will be the H500 or possibely the H700.
