...Blind Leading The Blind...

We have a few new people and its the first time in a while that we've had more than one at a time. There's nothing bad in that, but today they had new person #2 shadowing new person #1.

Shadowing is where a new rep is through basic training and is getting the real world experience watching an experienced rep. That goes for about a week and then the new rep is thrown to the sharks. The process works pretty well, unless both reps are new.

Hooray for logic!

BlackBalled! (Longish)

Let me preface this post by saying that I am, in fact "Black". If you feel insulted by mildly veiled epithets, please don't read on.

So, recently I've been blackballed from being promoted, for no discernible reason, and after saying, ok ok maybe my supervisor just really likes me and wants to give me a chance to get ahead in her group (where the fresh h311 did such optimistic thinking come from? I've depressed doorstops in my day.) Next, I decide to go back to my previous department, and then after hounding the sup for a week, was told that I couldn't even do that because of a supposed issuance, that I or anyone else has no knowledge of. I guess they expect me to work like a good slave, and not ask mah massa no quessins, and keep work...

Question for AT&T people...

I'm in the market for a PDA, but i'm trying to save some money. So i'm looking at a few Refurb models on the AT&T website. They have a refurbed BlackJack that seems tempting since it's only $49.99 (online only price). My question is, since it's window's mobile 5.0, can it be upgraded to 6.0? And if so, how is that done and what does that cost?

There is also a Refurbed BB Pearl and Refurbed BB Curve that I was looking at as well. Which do you think is best?

What makes a good customer?

We've all said it: paying your bill on time consistently for 3, 6, 9 months or even the length of your contract doesnt make you a good customer. So I just found myself asking, what DOES make a good customer? At what point would you, as a salesperson, agree with the customer's claim to being a good customer?

Keep thinking I"ve heard it all.

And then I realize that there's a new level of stupid and idiot coming out of the walls every minute.

She was using her Step-sister's child support card to try and set up a line of service and buy a sidekick!

Ouch, my brain hurts!

Two weeks screwed and we're aiming for three I'm sure

So the details are rather specific, I'm sure if my boss reads the forum (I know at least one supervisor type people at my work who does) he will recognize it right away. In that eventuality I will say that ... Yes, my attitude on this situation sucks a little, but then this situation sucks a lot so I'm kinda pissed off... so my level of care on that account is pretty minimal.

That said... on to Niki's rant

We are normally open until 6 on weekends. I close on Sundays. I don't love it but it's life, I need to work the hours and cannot bring myself to get up any earlier than that since me and mornings have a hate-hate relationship going on. This month the pinheads in the front have decided we shall be open until 8. It's rather idioti...

Like an episode of cops...

There is a trailer park not too far from my store. The real winners are living there. I just watched one of them running across my parking lot. There are several funny parts to the story. They are as follows:

He pretty much looked like Joe Dirt in 80s running shorts and a dirty t-shirt. He had no jacket or shoes. We have several inches of snow left on the ground. He was carrying a bag that looked like a dirty old cloth purse.

He looked like he was drunk or stoned. Very funny to watch him flail his arms around as he ran. He kept looking back too as though he was being chased. This made him look even more awkward every time he lost his balance from turning around.

The best part was when the cop came out of nowhere and ta...

AT&T better than Verizon?

Let's debate.....

Which is better: AT&T Vs. Verizon

Why?

P.S. If your gonna argue that rollover is useless than you better have a good reason!

This is probably the last time...

that I will EVER keep my mouth shut when someone says this:

Cust: I hate [insert provider].

Me: Why?

Cust: Because they wouldn't give me the phone I wanted for free.

Me: ....................Oh.

Next time, I might tweak out a little bit.

Customer service means we're here to help you figure out what works, and to help solve the problems that we're associated with.

We're not here to feed your spoiled little bitch ego, and we're not here to wipe your ass with a warm towel every time you speak out of it.

I work with three providers, and I've had numerous people say this about each one. Listen, if you hate them because they wouldn't give you whatever phone you wanted for free, I'm sure they were more than happy to...

Speaking of Stupid People

I have a story to share! This customer calls me up and asks "So...um...do you like, have any family plan deals?" I advised her of "Yes, we do. They start out at $____/month." She hung up. Then called back not two minutes later. "Yea, I just called, I wanna know if all of your phones have the long distance on them. Or is it just some of your phones?" ๐Ÿ˜ณ ๐Ÿคจ

*Smacks myself in the face*

I advise her "Yes, all phones call long distance, ma'am. It just depends on weather or not you want it included in your plan..."

"Oh! Ok! Thank you so much!" Click.

๐Ÿ™„ Are people really that retarded?

This is not a haggling session.

1. You're haggling me over the price of the Voyager.... for a new line of service. You want it on-line. The on-line price for a new line is $299.99. I cannot change it. I CANNOT CHANGE IT. I'm sorry your account has only been with us for 3 whole months, all that means is your account is not eligible for a courtesy credit, either.

2. If you can find a place that will sell the Voyager or the Razr2 for $30, I recommend you take that offer where you found it. Don't trust the site you found it on? Not my problem.

3. Threatening to cancel your account won't get either phone for you for $30. If you think I have a problem canceling your account, you're dead wrong. Remember, you have to deal with the ETF, not me.

4. Paying your bills on t...

christmas vendors

so, I am wondering if anyone else has this thought: do products/conveniences that have special kiosks during this time of year start out silly, but eventually wear you down, to the point of actually thinking about spending money on those things? things like sand in a colorful cloth sock with smelly stuff mixed in, that sells for $50-90 a pop, based on the shape.

Or the wonderful sausage and cheese in shrink wrap, courtesy of hickory farms... does anyone esle get the crazy idea to buy? discuss...

Remind me never to get Alzheimers...(not cut off this time)

This poor 91 year old woman came up to my kiosk and handed me a letter she received in the mail from Verizon Wireless. The letter was something they were sending out to all of thier Analog customers notifying (sp?) them that the Analog service was being discontinued and to continue service, they must switch to a Digital calling plan. So after talking to this sweet old lady for a bit, I discovered that about 12 or so years ago she had bought a bag phone, but never used it even once. She said she had been paying the bill every month because she didnt know she was supposed to cancel the service since she was never going to use it anyways.

Imagine paying a bill for something for 12 years and never using it once that whole time. I felt bad for...

"I have absolutley no idea, so I wont tell you yes or no"

i.e: "What will care do for me since Ive been with you for 3 years?"
"What will finance do since my service is suspended right now?"

I dont say a word, because, who really knows until you call, jagoff!
