Ah ha!

Me(3 months ago)-The plan includes 450 minutes total. Thats incoming and outgoing. Do you understand?

Customer (3 months ago): Yes. Let's do it.
---------------------------------------------
I'm glad I documented the account well because I got her back today (what are the chances?)

Customer: I was told I get free incoming with this plan and I got over 200.00 in overages because of it!

Me: Well I can guarantee that you were not told that.

Customer: How do you know? You weren't there, you didn't listen to the call.

Me: You're right. I didn't listen to the call. I took the call and changed your plan.

Customer: Oh. My bad.

That was fun!

Long rant. Woot!

It's been a while since there's been a mega-gripe on here, so I figure I'll do it.

People who cannot remember their passwords on the account. I know it's a small one, but when I have to sit there on the phone waiting for some old, grumpy man to complain to me that he never set up a password... well, it makes me ***headdesk***

Don't call me and whine about your DSL service. Really, just don't.

I don't care if your 15 year old says they never downloaded all those Chingy ringtones and Tetris. They're LYING because you're upset at the large BILL. Also, they did NOT do those 4500 text messages outside of the network. We know they didn't, we just like adding random charges to children's lines so the parents call us and b*tch. We like the ...

AT&T Exchange Policy Questions

I work for a dealer that recently migrated from Cellular One to AT&T. We ran into a couple issues yesterday and I am wondering if someone can help me.

A customer started AT&T service on January 1st. They got an LG CE110. They came back a week later and exchanged it for a Nokia 6555. Yesterday, they called because they said the phone was not working and they wanted to exchange it.

Here are my questions: If AT&T only allows one exchange per activation during the 30 day period, should we exchange the phone?

Because the phone is having technical issues, is that an exception to the one exchange policy? If so, they should only be able to exchange for the exact same model, right?

Next issue, I had a couple activate service on January 1...

T-Mobile Got Jacked!

First, read this courtest of Boy Genius Report:

So here’s what we just heard: one of T-Mobile’s warehouses were broken into over the weekend and around 36,000 phones were stolen! The phones stolen are said to be worth around $8.2 million! Yeah peoples, not fun. What’s even crazier is that the majority of what was stolen were the Sidekick devices. T-Mobile’s actively tracking the IMEIs to see if any are activated on their network and is said to be working with law enforcement officials to trace the handsets to dealers that potentially activate them. Totally insane! Here’s the internal email to T-Mobile dealers, after the jump!

"Wanted to let you all know that one of our warehouses was broken into over the week...

NEW YORK - Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday in a Manhattan apartment in a possible drug-related death, police said. He was 28.

According to the New York Times, Ledger was found naked and unconscious with pills strewn all around him in an apartment owned by actress Mary-Kate Olsen. Police sources told the Times that the death appeared to be a suicide.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the apartment. The housekeeper, who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there, found him unconscious at approximately 3:30 p.m. E...

Dumbest question of the day.... so far...(kinda long.sorry)

so i was helping a customer when this lady comes into the store and comes and stands at the counter. 👀 i acknowledge her and let her know that ill be with her in a min...kinda hinting to go have a seat..cause its rude to stand over someone elses shoulder when they are being help.
anyways...the guy that i was helping started to feel uncomfortable with her so he told me to help her. i asked her what i could do for her. basically her phone was turned off for non payment called care to have her pay her bill(because i couldnt access her account. after she is done paying her bill she tells me her phone is still not working. i tell her to turn her phone off and turn it back on............she just stared at me like i was speaking another l...

I had a water bottle in my purse and... (long and rantish)

So, we all know how that sentence ends. Anyway, this brat teenager comes in and that's the first thing she says.

I pull up the account and see she's not eligible to upgrade but has insurance so I say "I have good news and bad news. The bad news is, you're not eligible to upgrade."

At this point it becomes "check the other lines" which the soonest line is 2 weeks away. Then the girl launches into this tirade about how she needs to have a phone for her babysitting jobs and blah blah blah. At which point I interrupted her (it's fun to interrupt THEM for once) and said "You didn't let me tell you the good news. You have insurance."

That calmed her and her mother for a moment as I explained how insurance works and what to do and the girl...

hello wireless employees (long)

I'm not really new to phonescoop. I have been ready posts for about two years now. I have worked cust svcs for cingular during att merge and now I'm working retentions for sprint. I love my job especially because I make more now plus bonus at the end of the month. I have read where people are talking about sprint. I truthfully don't care cause I still have my job. The area where I live is majority sprint or att and I've seen more people with sprint. Yes, I live in a big area which includes Virginia beach, Norfolk, and Williamsburg in VA. I can definitely say that I save a lot more cust a day then people cancelling. I don't believe sprint is going anywhere no time soon but I can say some bad decisions are being made. Once again just introduci...

My customer...or yours??

Ok so at my store lately we've been having the problem of whose customer it is... what makes it one sales rep's customer and not anothers? For example, if a rep talks to a customer two days ago and comes back and another rep is helping them out, whose is it? etc...
