This phone is the first phone put out without the help of UTStarcom. On any of the other HTC phones, you will see the UTStarcom logo on it somewhere or during startup on the phone. This is the first phone put out by HTC without the help of UTStarcom, as per the HTC representitive for the mountain west area.

Palm's next updates for the Pre (continued for copy and paste thread)
Jul 9, 2009, 10:31 AM
in the Palm Pre (CDMA) forum

Copying and pasting to forward a text message is just one of the things that is on the top of Palm's To-Do list. I spoke with the Palm representitive a few days ago and he said that Palm is aware of users that want to use this feature and they will add it shortly, along with being able to use voice dialing, forwarding text messages to multiple users, and updating the software so the video camera is functionable. The ...

Yes and no. The only phones that allow you to set a ringtone directly from you computer on to your memory card as a ringtone are PDA devices. More accurately the Blackberry. However if you have a data plan you can send the MP3's through a site called Funformobile.com and they will convert it into a ringtone and even send it to your phone for you, all for free. Just keep in mind you do need a data plan ...

Watch out for HTC within the next year or so. They are slowly becoming a powerhouse in the cell phone industry. With UTStarcom's help, I have a feeling they will skyrocket to the top.

Take a look at one of them in a store. This device is the first one actually put out by HTC and not UTStarcom. The keyboard is very easy to use it is the first device to incorporate what is called the "Inner Circle". This is basically a list of people whose e-mails you actually CARE about recieving on your phone. For most, we get junk and spam and emails from our boss that we don't want at 3am. ...

This phone was made for those who still want features, but don't want a full keyboard. The slide is the same type as the on that is on the new Rumor 2 (The Rumor 2 fixed the original problems with the Rumor). The slide is easy to use and it feels great in your hand because of the slim design. I have a feeling this phone will be around for a while.

HUGE screen and great features

in the Samsung Exclaim M550 forum

If you want a phone that is great for the internet but does not have the complexity of a PDA, then this is the way to go. Yes, the deivce is bigger but that also means that you get a bigger screen. Worried about a dual slide? This same hardware for the slide has been used in European conutries for the past 6-9 months and has proven to be reliable. The keys are spaced out for easy texting, there is ...

Yes they are doing something right. Advertising. Whereas Sprint has focused more on customer service and retention, Verizon continues to advertise but keeps their prices high. Comparitivly, Verizon and Sprint have almost the exact same coverage, only Sprint offers TWICE the data speeds of Verizon at a cheaper price. Obvisouly I have a bias, but that was as objective as I could be. :D -SprintGod

We have no idea actually. I know they recently came out with an update for the HTC Mogul, but don't know when its going to be on the centro. Yes the nav is included in the simply everything plan it just doesn't work with palm right now. Oh and I hate the Touch. Its too slow. Never been on myspace on either phone but i know on my pearl it works great.

MP3's ae gonna work the best but my recommendation is to submit them through funformobile.com so that it you can get it sent to your phone. If you just put the song into your memory card, it will only play on your music player and you can't set it as a ringtone. Unless you just buy it from the Sprint website, then its compatible with almost everything. ~SprintGod

Re: locked fone
Mar 29, 2008, 1:24 PM
in the LG Rumor / Scoop / UX-260 forum

Original lock code is the last 4 of your phone number. If that doesn't work, take it into a Sprint store and have them master reset it. After that, they just have to reprogram it and its reset to the last 4 of the phone number. Good luck! ~SprintGod

Re: Call Log???
Mar 29, 2008, 12:38 PM
in the Motorola Q9m / Q9c forum

There's an option to either view all calls that you have made, or you can view it by which numbers called and when only. So for example, if I call 555-5555 13 times, it would show up on the view all calls setting 13 times. On the other setting, it would just show when you last called that person, but only show it once. ~SprintGod

Do you have the web on the phone? If so, is that working? And what type of memory card is it? You might need to format it or it could be with that phone that it needs to save the music to a different location on the card. Some phones access the music through the "MEDIA" file, others through the "Music" file. Try changing the location of where the music is stored and seeif that helps. Also if you ...

GPS isn't available yet. We're told there's going to be a software update for it soon but nothing yet. And as fas as the phone goes, head into a store and see if mind not having a keyboard. The guys that ndon't mind touching it instead of having a physical key to press really like this phone. Those that are lets say going from a Treo have trouble adapting to the keyboard. Other than that, it's a great phone.

If you haven't already tried restoring your phone setting to the default I would. My friend has the same problem with the Upd=stage. It was a specific ringtone that the phone didnt like. So if you recently downloaded a non-Sprint ringtone, that could somehow be causing an error with the phone, even if it isnt assigned to anything. It could also be a 3rd party program as well. If the reset (which is under security) doesn't fix the problem, ...

The lock code to get into your security features or your master service code? The master service code isn't given to customers but any sprint corporate store will be able to help you reset your phone. Your lock code (as in on your security settings) is the last 4 of your phone number, unless you have changed it to something else. ~SprintGod

If you really wanna know what this firmware upgrade was supposed to be for, there was a batch of Sprint LG Rumor phones that Sprint tried to keep quiet about. They left the programming/Service Menu opened when they installed the software on this specific batch of phones on accident. Users could accidently press a series of buttons that would put the phone into "panic mode" and would basically fry the phone from being used. The only way to fix ...

Basic, the most durable phone ever made by Sprint, and easy to use. This phone gets my vote. Every time we get a new shipment in, these phones go out fast. I just had a company buy 10 of them and so far no problems. I'll keep this thread updated if I come across any problems but so far, good as gold. We are just starting to see the real advantages of the Sprint-Nextel merger.

It can cause your appliactions to run slower (lag), cause you to lose signal strength, drop calls, all sorts of fun things. I have seen all of the above and all of the problems were fixed by putting in the 1GB card or lower.

It wasn't designed to be able to do that on the phone. It was designed to be a media player so you leave your iPod at home and start using your phone. Atleast that's what the goal was.

Well you're comparing apples to oranges here. The Katana was never meant to be an mp3 player phone so when users downloaded MP3 songs to the Katana, it sisn't get loud like the MP3 player phones. The Katana serves the purpose for which it was designed. Being a great phone but not an MP3 player. The 610 vs the 620 The Upstage is meant to be something along the lines of the Fusic's "upstage". It ...

The M500 will take up to the 1GB card but it's not Sprint recommened to go above that. I do know that the new Samsung Upstage is compatible with the 2GB card but that's the only one so far. Theoretically, all phones can take the 2GB card but it can cause problems with the phone.

Upgraded software, but no camera. It does seem like a bit of a jump backwards. I rarely run across people that want a phone without a camera in it. It is a bit more sturdy when it comes to the "joints" on the phone but other than that I don't know.

From what I was told, Sprint doesn't put out a whole lot of slider type phones because of durability issues. You all remember the A940? Yes. Perfect example. A phone that rotated...and shattered when you dropped it while it was open.

Unfortunantly the only thing I can think of is to take it to a service and repair center and have them take a look at it. There is also a feature on your phone that you could try. If you haven't done it recently, go to Tools-Update Phone. It should say "Checking for updates" for about 2 minutes or so and then tell you if there is an update or not. Most of the time the updates fiz known ...

Yes you can recieve calls when you're using your MP3 player. It will just stop the application and start the song over again once the call is finished. Don;t know about the jack. I've never heard of it being done like that before. I think the connection is smaller than 2.5mm.

Speed typing a message can be as fast if you get used to the predictive text (or T9 as its called) There is a feature called wireless backup that you can pay $2 a month for that backups your contacts wirelessly. It's called Wireless Backup. You can access it on your phone from Settings - Wireless Backup - Subscribe. If something ever does happen to your phone, Sprint can send your contacts again.

Mar 24, 2007, 6:57 PM
in the Sanyo Katana / SCP-6600 forum

The Katana was not meant to be an MP3 playing phone. Even the ringtones from Sprint.com are quiet unless you get the polyphonic or the MIDI format. That is my biggest complaint with the phone is that it doesn't get loud enough even when you download them from Sprint.com. You're better off just sticking to the ringtones that aren't the real song. The MIDI's and the polyphonic ones. The good news is they're cheaper to buy. :D

HAHA! Well in response to that again, Meyman is right on a couple issues but exaggerates only slightly. :P The 1 year agreement is only available with certain minute plans. If you have a buisness account (Which is what government plans are) you aren't eligable for the one year contract. The reason for this is because government contracts already recieve a monthly service discount. The free after 7pm night and weekends option is for ...

Basically you buy the rights to that ringtone for 90 days but you can keep it on your phone for as long as you like. It won't just delete itself after the 90 day period.

Meyman is right. Sprint does not provide drives to be able to sync your phonebook entries to your computer. However, Sprint does provide a wireless backup program for you to sync your contacts to the web in event that something happens to your phone. Maybe not the solution you were looking for but it may help.

in the Samsung SPH-M500 forum

Using the phone-as-modem is an extra service with requires an agreement of 2 years just on that service so I don't recommend it. There's a few problems with phone as a modem. 1. You can't make or recieve calls while it's connected to phone-as-modem. 2. It drains you battery 3. You can't plug in your phone to a charger when using it as a modem (a select few phones excluded) I recommend looking into the Sprint air cards. Speeds ...
