To Be Clear....
You can use it on Pick Your Plan, not Pay-As-You Go Pre Paid plans.
Here's Your Problem
You can't use FULL songs as ringtones on your V3xx. You can use tones that are about 200KB in size. If the tone exceeds that, you wont be able to use it. That being said, if you want to transfer your own ringtones from your computer to be used as a customer tone on your v3xx, you'll have to trim the song.
It is... However...
at&t has only deployed 3G primarily over 1900.
Sharp
This phone looks pretty nice, good entry level handset. Nice to see some basic phones from at&t with EDGE and BT.
Sleeper Phone
No one would guess you what you were packing when you pull this bad boy out...
3G
Wi-Fi
PTT
2MP Cam
Mem Card Slot
Symbian S60
Wow, this phone looks like a basic GSM/GPRS nokia of old.
Looks Matter
I'm sorry, but you saying that looks are important is ridiculous. No one would buy a car that had a reliable engine if the car looked like a box. And no one dates a super ugly chick just because she's smart. Looks matter, and weather this phone is reliable or not, people aren't going to buy it because its hideous. And you should do some research when referring to HSDPA and the speeds. It may not be rolled out ...
Um, Not Really...
Spec wise, the 8GB N95 kills the iPhone, but it's twice as expensive (note the 8GB iPhone retails for $399.00). And plus, there is nothing over the top unique about the N95.
Not a Bad Idea at All
Sprint doesn't get good phones because they use CDMA Tech. GSM carriers i.e. at&t & T-mobile always get the best phones. It wouldn't be a bad idea to leave Sprint for anyone...
PTT ALSO
It also has WCDMA, PTT and A2DP (stereo BT),,, and that's is a BIG DEAL!!
It's Coming,, But Not until Next Week
Technically it was made available on 09/12, however it was just hitting the distribution centers on 09/12-09/14. It should begin hitting stores 09/17 and be posted on the website 09/16.
Re: Price
Only gonna be offered in 0 or 1 camera for at&t.
Here's Why It Sucks
Compared to the TILT, this phone is a piece.
Tech
HSDPA>EVDO - Any day of the week, can you say "simultaneous voice & data"? Not if you have Verizon :o !
Battery Life
4.4hrs(tilt)>3.5hrs (i760) - Once again, a GSM Phone kicks a CDMA phones @$$ on battery. And yes, one hour of talk time makes a huge difference on a PDA like this.
Camera
3MP(tilt)>1.3MP(i760) - For those of you who say this isn't a big deal, it really is. Why even ...
Um,,,, I'm Not a Sista...
I'm not a woman,,, but thanks for backing me up none the less... Didn't you see how manly my avatar was? It Master Cheif for goodness sakes!!
Why Verizon Sucks
This phone is a perfect example of why Verizon sucks so hard. Ugly phones, with crappy features. Too bad this thing doesn't hold it's own with the likes of the TILT or the Q9H...
Addressing the Cons
c'mon,,, if this phone had anything other than a 65k screen, you'd get like 2 hours max talk time... You can't have it all
Retail Cost
the phone will retail for $559.99, can differ market to market...
Sorry...
it will not have a front facing camera. at&t supports video share, not video calling.
Chrome & Red
Coming soon, looks sick.
PDA Plan...
The Smartphone packages are being discontinued completely (at&t). Assuming that at&t picks this one up, it will like require a PDA feature.
Niche Phone... Not Availible in Stores
It's my understanding that this phone will be special order for most stores. It will primarily be available through Radio Shacks and Best Buys nation wide.
I do like it though. Very slick, and for the right price. probably around $49.99 after rebates.
Got Mine!!
I got mine today!! They go on sale tomorrow, and they are sick. It is almost exactly like the v3xx in every way with the exception of the external screen, touch sensitive controls and camera. Super, duper hot phone!!
Re: wait...what now? 8gb/ US?
From what I've read, the 8GB version is sort of an update to the one that's already available. The version compatible with U.S. networks has all the sames specs as the original, just with US 3G instead of 2100.
TYTN II or Tilt (kaiser)?
This sounds exactly like the already announced kaiser/tilt. Would I be mistaken?
Roided Out 6030
That's what it looks like to me. But this phone is too ugle to have all those nice features.
Has Verizon Not Been Sued?
How is it possible that no one has sued Verizon for their "unlimited" data packages. The fact that its called unlimited but is capped out after a certain amount of data use is absurd.
Q9H > Q9M
It would appear that the q9M is the Superior device here. The q9h feature better battery life, better camera, more internal memory (256 vs 64), and wi-fi. Not to mention that it's a GSM/HSDPA 3.6 device!! Eat your heart out verizon!!
That's Not It...
Nokia doesn't use Qualcomm WCDMA chipsets, I can't think of where there's come from off the top of my head, but it isn't Qualcomm.
One Observation
I noticed that this is the 2nd at&t 3G handset w/o HSDPA... wonder why /;| ...
Re: i don't think this is the tilt
You're right, the IRIS is not a CDMA variant of the Tilt (Kaiser). I was simply replying to some one else's TILT related question.
Thank You GOD...
First off, your name is absurd.
Second, I did read the article, and I'm sure Sanyo would be a much different company had they been offering handsets on Verizon than Sprint.
Yes, Auto Focus
I was told directly from our HTC rep the the "TILT" (as it will be know on at&t) will have an auto focus 3.2 MP camera.
Apply to Company Owned Retail
There are a lot of stores in the Baltimore area that are hiring. The Columbia area in particular...
A Move to Verizon on the Horizon?
It would make sooooo much sense for Sanyo just to move over and start making handsets for Verizon. I'm sure verizon customers are clamoring for something outside of the Bermuda triangle of Motorola, Samsung & LG. Just the fact that they would be new to Verizon's existing customer base would boost their sales tremendously (Sanyo, not Verizon. No one is switching carriers for a Sanyo).
And believe me, I'm not rooting for this (Sanyo moving to Verizon), but Sanyo reminds ...
Still Waiting... And Waiting... And Waiting...
For this one to show up  ...

I don't think that AT&T will be carrying the RAZR2 V8 as it is not 3G. The V8 may be carried by T-Mobile and SunCom, while AT&T will go for the V9.
Thank you Captain Obvious. The reason almost every major carrier still carries the original Razr because its cheap. It can be found anywhere from $0-$50 and kills most entry level handsets out there. As Nokia has proven, entry level is the path to #1.
Upon Further Review...
I see that it does have expandable memory  , but I don't see where it has EDGE /;| .
Very Odd Specs...
z530 replacement, yet no EDGE support?
Megapixel camera, yet no expandable memory?
I can't see us (at&t) picking this phone up. Customers are reluctant enough to try Sony Ericsson and this one doesn't exactly make a stranger feel warm and cuddly.
Still Waiting...
Unfortunately I'm still waiting on mine...
Re: And Now Mabye HSDPA!!
And that is all it will ever be, a wish...
CU400 Blows?
I think not. I actually carry a v3xx and Curve regularly. But I also own and frequently switch to a w810 and most notably a CU400. The CU400 has been exceptional for me and my customers. It gets strong reception, has a solid classic form factor, and is just the right price.
But I'll agree, we do need better entry level handsets. From my understanding, LG has a hot new entry level handset coming to replace the cg225 and LG ...
