TYTN II or Tilt (kaiser)?

This sounds exactly like the already announced kaiser/tilt. Would I be mistaken?

Just as the "Hermes" was the "TyTN", the "Kaiser" is the "TyTN II". Names like "Tilt" or "MDA Vario III" are (I believe) additional branded names applied by carriers and/or providers. For example, Cingular/AT&T never refers to the 8125 as the "Wizard" even though that is the platform it's based on. The same "Wizard" platform/device is also re-branded as the T-Mobile "MDA Vario".

I am guessing that names like Hermes, and Kaiser are development names and TyTN and TyTN II are released product names along the lines of Microsoft's Windows "Longhorn" becoming Windows "Vista". The former is the "development/code name" and the later is the announced/released product name. That is just my educated guess, though.

I am glad I didn't buy the 8525 ...

Do anyone know which carrier will have this phone. I would leave sprint in a heartbeat just to get my hands on one of these.

there have not been any announcements to this effect, but one can surmise that since this device has the same bands and radios as the ATT 8525, and comes from the same manufacturer, that it would come to ATT as well.

this, of course, is not guaranteed until ATT announces it.

Actually Eric, there is someone in this very forum, that shared they have a friend who works in recieving for ATT in Forth Worth, Tx, and he said they will be coming in 09/03, and will be called the ATT 8925. Which makes sense to me.

I've given it some thought about getting this, but they are e$xpensive! They really are, not only the device, but the support services that go along with having a device like this, such as internet, MobiTv, XM Radio, stuff like that, to really enjoy a device like this, it racks up!

Personally though, I am very attracted to the Blackberry Curve, hey Eric, I have a ?, I know you've messed around with the Curve, when I'm @ work, I like to talk on my phone with it in my back pocket while using the earpiece, if...

It WILL be AT&T, although I suppose TM will also get it as an update to the MDA? It is called the 8925, and depending on who's mix of Cool-Aid you're drinking, it will be released sometime in September.

At this point, even the flunkies at the stores know it is coming; I went in a few weeks ago to buy an 8525 and they told me to wait for the 8925 - which should be close to the same [old?] price.

I was just wondering if you have an opinion on att's service. I really want to switch from sprint to att just to get this phone, however; all of my friends are telling me that att have some very expensive data plans. I've been with sprint so long, my data plan is $10.00 and it's unlimited.

If you choose your provider based on a phone your just asking for trouble. there are so many other thing to consider Price, customer service, coverage area other services.

LMAO PRICE... like sprints SAME RATE PLAN, customer service sending letters to cancel customers, and ATT's larger coverage area?

the only difference is speed and any encyclopedia will tell you HSPA is better in the long run than WIMAX... especially when traveling
