I do not work for Verizon, but I can assure you that as long as you are working in the sales channel for any publicly traded company we have the same stuff happening. Paycuts all around, bottom line conscious policy changes, and the overall smack down of any free thinking the corporation thinks may poision the loyalty pool. You arent alone. Do not quit Verizon though if you plan on staying in retail. Anyone who tells you their company ...

But blind pride leads to failure. I want to start by saying that Sprint has been getting SMASHED in Windows Mobile smart phone line up since 3 months after the release of the HTC Mogul. VZW and AT&T have been killing Sprint on WinMo phones for since 2008. Now T-Mobile has jumpped on that band-wagon with the HD2 + Snapdragon. Then even though Sprint was one of the first to dump MILLIONS of dollars into Google's Android OS Sprint ...

I am almost positive that all the NEW Blackberry devices require a data pack. At least you have to have that data pack to qualify for rebates. If you have no interest in Data may I suggest the Sanyo 2700, the phone looks slightly like a blackberry but is just intended to text and make calls.

In my city, we have two Sprint Preferred retailers, 1 corporate store, 2 Walmarts, 2 Radio Shacks, and 1 Best Buy that all sell Sprint. I find that of the stores, the only place where the people actually know the features and capabilities of the phones and want to spend the time with you to teach you how to use them is the Sprint Preferred Retailer stores. The Preferred Retailer stores are also the only stores that take time ...

In addition: I will concede that LTE is faster than WiMax. I will not debate that fact with you. LTE is faster than average wireline broadband. However, both WiMax and LTE technologies are built with evolution in mind. They can only expand and grow. WiMax can become LTE and LTE can become faster than what it is now. 21Mbps HSDPA is an end of life technology. It is a band-aid for companies that do not have the spectrum to ...

Every link you have provided shows no real world result comparison of 21Mbps HSDPA and CLEAR. In addition, the one link you posted with 7.2Mbps HSDPA was in a non-launched market (meaning it was very likely that the tester was the only attempted connection to that repeater) vs the CLEARWIRE 802.16e beta WiMax market Sprint had in Baltimore in late 2008. To ensure I was not leading you astray, I have put some considerable time into looking into 21Mbps ...

CLEARWIRE is not Sprint's 4G. Clearwire uses WiMax 802.16e which has average speeds of 1.5Mbps to 3Mbps. CLEAR is Sprint's 4g. CLEAR operates on WiMax 802.16m and has average speeds of 3Mbps to 6Mbps. Two completely different data codecs, speeds, and consumer equipment. Customers in CLEAR markets who have not upgraded to CLEAR equipment from old CLEARWIRE equipment will not get to take advantage of the upgrade. As a user who understands the current conundrums of the wireless handset market I would put a bunch of cash on the fact that Sprint is running into problems with battery life and this is slowing down development of a 4G phone. I truly dislike marketing, it makes things so confusing for the average consumer. The HSDPA 21 Mbps in no way guarantees that the user will get anything close to those speeds. This is how it works. HSDPA does not add more feeding fiber lines to give faster internet to the customer. Instead it is essentially an upgrade in repeater equipment and software that attempts to optimize what little fiber it has. In favorable conditions (good signal and few ...

Because if you knew anything about what Wall Street values Sprint at and how much Spectrum they hold, the last time someone made a bid for Sprint they came back and said with their Spectrum and Fiber holdings that they valued themselves at $82.9 Billion. Depends on what you want to use it for. Rumor has it that the Touch Pro 2 will be upgradeable to Windows Phone (Windows Mobile 6.5). For diehard WiMo fans this is a selling point. From the presentations I have seen we are looking at an addition 15 or so WiMax cities before the End of November. Also as far as devices go, I have seen two phones, a UMPC tablet, a netbook, a slew of data cards, a WiFi/WiMax modem combo, and more all slated to drop before end of 2009. Sprint is moving the 4G out quickly this year by converting existing Clearwire markets to their Clear market 4G standard.

The cities listed for a September First CLEAR launch already had Clearwire. What is the difference? Clearwire used WiMax build 802.16e which topped off at about 3Mbps Down and 768Kbps up. Clear uses WiMax build 802.16m Which topps off at about 10Mbps down and 1.5Mbps up. The 802.16m is not so much a new service as it is adding fiber lines to the pop and upgrading software versions. CLEAR is owned by several companies as outlined here: Sprint $6.3 ...
