More debt.

I'm not a wireless company, but more debt is never a good thing. Especially when you already have plenty of it. Eventually it catches up to you and bites you in the rear. I know from personal experience.

8107 Update?
Mar 26, 2012, 5:42 PM
in the Windows forum

Has anyone tried installing the 8107 Update for Windows Phone yet on their HTC Arrive? Just wondering how it went, and if it's worth it. Too bad we have to look elsewhere since our glorious carrier would rather block the update. Thanks.

I really like it. It's easy to use, and has a pretty clean user interface. Probably much easier to learn than Android, although I've never used Android. I sure as hell don't plan on using it either. The only thing that pisses me off is the general attitude towards Windows Phone by the big carriers. Sprint/Verizon still only have one phone running Windows. Sprint doesn't seem to take it seriously, and they aren't even offering the recent updates which I ...

Thanks for the input. Are there any other streaming music services for Windows Phone 7 like Slacker? I've also read somewhere that IE doesn't support Flash either. I'm sort of used to that having had a Palm Pre for a while.

Good phone for me?

I've been due for an upgrade. Using a Palm Pre now. I've been considering an Android phone but I really am not a "power" user. 4G is nice but we still don't have it here in Indy (supposedly there are 2 towers in town experimenting with it). I mainly do texting, email, and mobile web. A few other apps like Pandora and The WeatherChannel. I've never been a Microsoft fan, but this OS does look interesting to me. I like the idea ...

Yeah, AT&T is known for their excellent customer service...they were rated just as bad as Sprint by J.D. Power & Associates. I've had bad experiences with Sprint Call Centers, but I can tell that things are changing. I will give them a chance. They have managed to fix each issue I had with them. Verizon should be good, and should have a good network. They charge you an arm and a leg for everything.

We'll see how much AT&T's digital television sucks when they continue to grow and grow their market share. Uverse doesn't suck. I know some people that have it, and it sure as hell is cheaper than the cable companies around here. I'm a mailman, and I have seen their new boxes popping up everywhere as they continue to wire more and more neighborhoods for Uverse. It's only a matter of time.

No....Sprint sucks. Their network is pretty damn good...that I'll give them. However, customer service lives up to the poor rating that it continues to get. I'm not talking about Sprint Store Employees. They're pretty good. I'm talking about the call center, or centers. It seems like a crap shoot every time I have to call one of them. This is my first contract with Sprint. Been with them since 11/07. I have had to call them more times in these 6 ...

I agree. I've been with Sprint for 6 months now, and the people in the Stores are very helpful. I only came across one person who may have just been very tired at the end of the day. Wasn't very talkative, or helpful. My problems with Sprint have been with the call centers, and trying to get things straightened out. I've had to call Sprint CS more times in these 6 months, than I had to call Verizon's CS in ...

AT&T is large because of their whole business operation, and not just because of their mergers with AT&T Wireless and Cingular. AT&T can get you everything for your home, along with wireless service. They provide landlines, high speed internet, and now they're wiring all the neighborhoods for U-Verse - digital TV over the phone line. They've been buying up all the baby bells, and now their huge again in that aspect as well. I think that AT&T will only get larger ...

If you had read further up, you would have seen that Sprint resolved this issue for me. Yes I did get my discount at the beginning. That's the whole reason I went with Sprint. They give a bigger discount than Verizon and T-Mobile. I don't care what other companies do for their employees. I work for the Postal Service and we get a discount with all 4 major carriers. Maybe the Post Office should stop giving Sprint its discount on postage. ...

If a company gives you a ton of customers, then they deserve a discount. You stop being greedy and trying to pinch every penny out of the customer that you can get. Stop changing your policy in the middle of a contract.

You must not like many customers at all since all you're good at is driving them away to other companies. The proof is in the numbers, and in your crappy J.D. Power & Associates Customer Service Ratings. Sprint would do well to clean house and get rid of all the incompetent morons like you that are mis-representing their good network.

I don't care how it sounds to the three of you in this immediate thread. It has nothing to do with intelligence and everything to do with anger. From what I've seen in life, it's usually the mental midgets of this world that have to use foul language in reference to someone, especially when they don't know anything about them. Don't give me the loyalty crap either. Sprint hasn't done much to earn my loyalty in these first 4 months. I've ...

That's great for you then. All I know is what I see on my bill. I get the discount on my plan, and then the add-ons are added. I called them to ask them about and all they can tell me is that that's the way it is now.

Re: Watered down corporate discounts!
Mar 13, 2008, 9:42 PM

Wrong. Sprint was taking my discount off of everything before, except for the taxes of course. They told me so on the phone, and I saw it on my previous bills. They warned me ahead of time a while back that I would be on a new billing system. I didn't realize that they would switch the discount to only the plan itself. I called them and they told me that the discount only comes off of the plan itself ...

Watered down corporate discounts!
Mar 13, 2008, 7:59 PM
in the Sprint forum

I no longer care what Sprint does. I just saw my recent bill and noticed something peculiar. It was more than what I thought it should be. After looking at it, I noticed that my %25 discount was taken off of the plan itself, and then all of my "add-ons" were added to the total. When I started this plan back in November, the discount was applied to everything first, and then the taxes/fees were added. This may only about to ...

It's sad that this happened to you. I had great help at the Sprint Stores which is the only reason I am keeping them. Some of the morons on the phone had lame attitudes and sounded displeased that I was just asking questions. I was with Verizon for 5 years and they are pretty good overall, however, I think they are a little on the stingy side. My discount with Sprint is better too. I'm still in my 30 days but ...

First of all, not all the cool phones are GSM. That's your opinion. I think that Sprint and Verizon both have some cool phones Secondly, who cares if GSM is used everywhere else around the world. Most people aren't world travelers. I myself love CDMA. I recently left Verizon because I thought they were too expensive. I have Sprint now and it works just fine where I need it too, including inside my house. Just because your ticked off at Verizon doesn't ...

I just signed up with Sprint and am still in my 30 day trial period. I like their network. I can call anywhere in my house, at work, or on my route. CDMA has been very good to me. I was with Verizon 5 years previously, but I got tired of their stinginess. I get a better discount with Sprint.
