Re: AMOLED Screens
Haha yeah, I have a tendency to look very closely at screens. I'm sure from normal distances it's fine, but I do look very closely at screens.
And Menno pretty much described exactly how I feel about them.
Re: AMOLED Screens
I'm comparing it to LCDs with the same 800 x 480 resolution. It feels like there's pieces every other pixel missing and everything is more choppy. I even think the screen on my Bold looks better. I guess it's all a matter of person opinion though.
AMOLED Screens
I'm not sure if I'm the only one who thinks this, but personally I'm not a huge fan of the new AMOLED screens. I've briefly played with a few Samsungs that have them [one running Android, the other running Windows] and I think they look awful. There's a noticeable "screen door" effect and they look very low-res or like there's pixels missing v.s an LCD with the same resolution. Does anyone else feel the same way, or know why? ...
Bold 9650
There is also a report on the page saying
Yes, we are getting the Blackberry Bold coming this summer! We will provide more details as the date gets closer. ~Mary, U.S. Cellular Facebook TeamUSCC is really stepping it up. :D
GOOD
I live in Missouri and I've been waiting for this. I'm 15, and I cannot stand texting and driving. My friends do it and make them stop. Quite honestly I'm glad this is happening. Even though older people text less, they're more dangerous than a teen texting in some cases. I was in the car and there was a women [probably in her 60's] texting in the car next to us, and she was swerving all over the road. ...
Camera
Are the images from the camera really that soft and fuzzy? I read a review for the HTC Magic [the same phone, of course] and the images were crisp, clear, and had good colour. So is it just your unit? And did you check for finger prints on the lense? :P
Re: Sooo yeah...
Well I'm pretty sure it is a USC phone, or I'm really hoping, and I'm going to take it in tomorrow to see if there's any way it can be re-programmed...
Thanks :)
Sooo yeah...
I got a phone off eBay, [I know, I know] and it's an LG Glimmer.
Anyway, I went to go get it activated, and there was no ESN number. Like in the phone's information, the number was all zeros. So the phone obviously couldn't be activated. What I'm wondering is how did this phone "lose" it's ESN?? /;|
Predictive Text...
Is there a way to default T9 when creating at text on this phone, or do I have to change it every time I wanna send a message?
LG Glimmer
If I were to get an LG Glimmer off like eBay or something, would I be able to use it?
Data Plans
Okay I know this has been brought up before, but I have a new twist. Based on the information that I've seen about upcoming USCC phones, they're going to have the HTC Touch Pro. It has WiFi, and I would love to be able to use the internet on it, but I wouldn't wanna pay the monthly charge for it. So from what I've read I hear there's no way to not have that charge, and then the whole ...
GRRRRR
Okay, so I have a ROKR Z6m, and I managed to rack up $38 in data charges for the month. When I went to easyedge to get free apps [And mobile AIM] I wasn't aware of the data charge. It didn't tell me [Unlike the W385 does], and I found out by lookig deep within the site...
It just really bothers me...
*rant over*
Re: I need to know...
Hmmm.
June is a little late. My RAZR won't even start, so I need something very soon.
I think I can live withe the ROKR, but thanks for the info! :)
I need to know...
if theres any new phones coming out soon [next few months] that can match or beat the specs of the ROKR. My RAZR has died, and I want to renew but not if something better will be coming soon.
Thanks!
Re: USCC?
Sweeeet.
My contracts up around then, so I'm all good! :D
USCC?
Anyone know if they might get it.
:-)...
Re: St. Louis Users...
The reception here is great. I have never dropped a call, and I hardly ever roam (and when I do, its in my basement or something. Although, this is in St. Louis County/part of the city (Webster, Shrewsberry, etc.)
But I'm sure the reception downtown is just as good...
Re: Yet another question...
Hmmmm...
Doesn't US Cellular do an offer for a new phone after 2 years? I know other carriers do. Some of my friends on Verizon got new phones after having theres for 2 years.
Re: Yet another question...
I'm in St. Louis, MO.
I want to get a ROKR. Is there anyway to get a discounted price without extending my contract?
Yet another question...
I wanted to know how much a ROKR would be after my 2-year contact is up. Its up in June, and my RAZR's already crapping out. :(
Thanks.
Re: good luck!
The E8 has the the keypad that changes for different apps.
Your thinking of the ROKR Z6...
Re: Ringtones on Verizon Blackberry Pearl
Have you tried Bluetooth? Or did Verizon disable file transfer? One again...
No...
he wants to change the ringing noise that you hear when calling someone to a song.
I would say to contact AT&T and ask them if the service is available (I know it is on Verizon, not sure on AT&T)
Re: USB to 3.5mm
What I did was get a USB to 2.5mm, then get a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter. But I haven't seen a USB to 3.5mm yet...
Re: unlocking
But they do offer roaming with carriers in other countries.
Re: Motorola's V810
/;|
Are you ok?
Re: unlocking
AT&T has a way you can use other networks overseas. It you want to unlock it and use a foreign SIM card, you'd have to get in a contract with that carrier, I believe.
Sorry to bother...
But I noticed the Samsung SCH-R610 is nowhere to be found in the phones. I just saw it at the US Cellular store by me, and didn't see it on here.
Thanks, and Happy New Year! :D
Re: video capture
Same with Motos.
But he has USCC.
Re: video capture
RAZR2 Or ROKR.
You need a memory card to record a lot. And the ROKR comes with a 512mb one.
Re: Verizon Phones
Well I can always ask. Its my sister who wants the Chocolate, and I want the ROKR. So I told her she can't have the ROKR. I would like to have something like the Flip Shot, or RAZR Maxx (for the cameras) but I think I'll survive. I'm sick of my V3m, and looking for a change. Plus I have to pay full price if I want the ROKR now... :(
Re: Sprint Verizon ???????
coachtim said:
Sprint tells me I use Verizon towers if I dont have a sprint signal. If that true then Sprint service would be just as good as Verizon ??????? Yes or No
Well It really depends. In some areas where Sprint gets service, Verizon doesn't. They use each other for roaming.
To me, it sounds like Sprint has a great deal going there. And if you don't have roaming charges, Sprint has the upper hand.

If you were to get it activated you would probably have issues with data and sms/mms.
Well I don't mind, I don't use that stuff anyway. But would it work? For calls and stuff, because thats all I care about.
Verizon Phones
If I bought a Verizon phone full price (w/o a contact) could I bring it to USCC and have it activated? (After it was "unlocked" or whatever) I want to use a Chocolate or RAXR Maxx Ve.
Unlocking Phones...
So now that Verizon allows their phones to be unlocked, is there anyway I could buy one of their phones full price (w/o a contract) and bring it to another carrier? I want to use a Chocolate or RAZR Maxx Ve on U.S. Cellular.
Re: quick little survey
It would take forever, and I doubt it will ever happen, considering that AT&T and T-Mobile GSM, and the rest are CDMA.
I wouldn't really care though, considering I don't have any of those carriers.
Texting...
Is there international texting on At&t?
My friend says she is texting her friend in France, and I figured it might cost more. :?

Ok that just ruined you whole point, sweetheart.
Re: So will you be able to...
Sweet.
Voice and text is fine with me! I don't care about that other stuff.
So will you be able to...
buy a Verizon handset without a contract and unlock it to be used on another carrier?
