If I bought a Verizon phone full price (w/o a contact) could I bring it to USCC and have it activated? (After it was "unlocked" or whatever) I want to use a Chocolate or RAXR Maxx Ve.

It is against company policy to activate non usc branded handsets. If you were to get it activated you would probably have issues with data and sms/mms. They would also offer no support to resolve the issues.

Well I don't mind, I don't use that stuff anyway. But would it work? For calls and stuff, because thats all I care about.

Yes, it will work. Text will be just fine. EasyEdge and Picture Messaging will not for the most part. Very hard to get it to work at least. But...might be a little hard to get someone to act. it for you. Could just call into a store or customer care and give them a ESN. Will have to lie about where the phone is from.

actually, at us cellular we don't allow customers to use phones from other carriers. the primary reasoning is that since each carrier uses different towers, the programming for the phone (in this case from verizon) would not even tell you if you were roaming on the phone. no us cellular location or individual will activate a non-us cellular phone for your protection. if you like the chocolate, check out the rokr z6m or the samsung r610.

Well I can always ask. Its my sister who wants the Chocolate, and I want the ROKR. So I told her she can't have the ROKR. 🤣 I would like to have something like the Flip Shot, or RAZR Maxx (for the cameras) but I think I'll survive. I'm sick of my V3m, and looking for a change. Plus I have to pay full price if I want the ROKR now... ☹️

used phones - those that have been returned as part of our 30-day guarantee and have less than 30 minutes of talktime are half the cost of retail🙂. try giving the stores closest to you a call. associates would even be willing to call around for you to find this information for you.
