Really now? The EVO on Verizon, Cricket, etc..?? What about the SPC code Sprint puts in ALL there phones? That doesn't sound "unlocked" to to me. You either have to get the SPC from Sprint, which is like pulling teeth. or Hack it from the phone. Which is becoming a pain in the ass. Sprint now even blocks reading the phones memory on Blackberry's were we can't even hack the SPC from it. Verizon is even getting into the game too with ...

Were was your welcome call center located? Mine was in Nashville, TN. We were the first group for Verizon to do them. We were kinda like the "Lets try this out see if it works, and if it does work out the kinks and get working good" group. We even started the Spanish welcome call group too.

Re: sprint welcome call
Mar 25, 2009, 11:19 AM

Ummm AT&T may not do Welcome Calls, but Verizon does. And Verizon has been doing them for a while! It's not like Sprint just came up with the idea. If they are done properly they can actually benefit the customer. I used to do welcome cals for Verizon. We didn't try to sell services though, thats kinda stupid for a welcome call. Our purpose was to make them feel welcomed and to veirfy there account information and make sure thier ...

actually in a way they do "share" towers. One tower could have multiple carrier broadcasting antennas on them. That is why you see multiple antennas on a lot of towers. They lease space on it.

My story was this: I used to work for Sprint Customer Care. The day after 9-11, I had a gentleman call claiming his payment never went through. He claimed he made this payment real early on the morning of 9-11, before the attack occured. This man claimed that the Sprint store was in one of the surrounding buildings that collapsed with the towers. His account was riddled with notes from were he had been calling endlessly. He did not have his reciept for ...

in the Article: Verizon Wireless Targets LTE Build Out for 2009 forum

Technology wise you are correct.. but it has been stated that the change to LTE is going to require a complete overhaul of Verizon's network. Which basically means they are going to be running 2 networks for a while until they get everyone migrated over, then they will shut down the CDMA network like Cingular did with TDMA.

When I used to work for Sprint Customer Service that is how I explained it to customers and then they were ok with it, or at least understood it better. Re: Transition from CDMA?

in the Article: Verizon Wireless Targets LTE Build Out for 2009 forum

Also have to think of it this way. The cost for running two separate networks. I think they will handle it like Cingular did. Forget the legacy plans. Most of those people are out of contract. and I'm sure Verizon would rather have them on more expensive plans or not have them at all. If Verizon actually WANTs to have plans that cheap for those customer, I doubt it would be too hard for them to make them.

Re: Question for anyone who knows?

in the Article: Sprint Receives Preliminary Approval to Settle ETF Claims forum

I never saw what was so illegal about it or hard to understand. I always looked at it this way: Sprint gives you $150 instant rebate on a phone for signing a 2 yr contract. So basically they gave you $150 to stay with their service for 2 yrs. If you break that contract and leave before that 2 yrs is up, then you need to give Sprint their $150 back.. Plain and simple.

Good Job man! I totally agree with you! This dude was so obviously pulling some kind of scam. Some of these people on here that actually work for the corporate side of these cell phone service companies do not understand or even KNOW that retailers can not resell a phone thats already been activated, even if it is returned the same day. Re: New Samsung A900M/P?
Jul 20, 2006, 11:19 PM

I think your Samsung Rep is an idiot.. Why would Sprint release a new version of a phone to add "Theme" support? Theme support is a software feature. The Samsung A900 I believe has FOTA ability. If Sprint wanted to add something to the software of the phone they would just release a software update. It's a lot more cheaper. Like others have said, and I believe PCSIntel is the site that broke the news on it, but It is suppose to ...
