Re: Most unbelieveable thing you've said to customer
when I worked in the wireless industry I would always have people that refused to give out the last four of their SSN to verify the account. So after verifying it by other means, I would pull their account up and say "so just to verify we have your social in the account right it is ***-**-****, right?"
had a few supervisor calls after those calls. :D

How 'bout $3.50 and a Toby Keith ringtone and we call it even...

Re: I realize its New Years Eve...
I once had a lady call in before noon, drunk off her @ss, trying to get a phone replacement and it turned into her flirting with me for about 20 minutes telling me her whole life story and how nice it would be if I lived a little closer to her... It was actually really amusing, and since we didn't bonus off of handle time (and I couldn't have cared less about my stats at the time) it was ...

I suggest you read it thoroughly. It is a new phone of the same model. There IS a FRU substitution matrix which is supposed to be used if the phone in question is out of stock which store manager's use when they make a Manager's Exception for people like this guy who complain enough but it is STILL not an entitlement...it is an exception. There is nothing that guarantees that a manager is going to ...
Re: Question about the warranty process.
Yeah, I have the option of using my original ENV... I'm actually probably going to do that, because I really dont care. Like I said, I JUST WANT A PHONE THAT WORKS. and my old phone works fine. I figured that Verizon might give me some options... ATT did, and like I said, Ive always thought Verizon was the better company and would at least do the same...

Re: Question about the warranty process.
I think we are probably on the same page... I know the people you are talking about and I hated them too.
I feel I'm entitled to what I payed for, a working phone, and I don't mind the ENV touch when it works. I'm always nothing but nice to the people I talk to on the phone and never act entitled to anything... If I dont get a different phone, I'm not going to wine about it to someone ...

Yes and that is one of the reasons they don't like to do it. I would make them pay for a new battery and charger. It shouldn't be included.
You're the problem with customer service...
I'm having an actuall problem, not trying to screw the system by getting a free upgrade... I'm really glad you are using the past tense when talking about working for VZW, because you do not belong in the customer service industry. Sounds like you hated ...

Re: Question about the warranty process.
Meh, we used to spew the same garbage when I worked at ATT. The 2 or 3 stike POLICY where we send a different make/model was never to be discussed out loud... But like I said, it was POLICY.
Not trying to tell someone who works for the company how they do business...so dont get me wrong. I'd rather have the phone I bought work, but If I have problems over and over, I'd rather change out to a normal ...

So you plan to lie to get a different model? I hope the rep notated your account that you were fishing for a different model.
No. I'm already on my second phone. I'm assuming that there is a high chance I will have problems with my replacement as well... I would be perfectly fine with the phone I have if it worked properly...
I know the vicious cycle that people go through when exchanging warranty phones for refurbs... ...
Re: Question about the warranty process.
If they sent me a different phone it would be a remanufactured phone of course... I'm not actually thinking that they will send me a whole brand new phone, like it was an upgrade.
I can see how you might think that would be ridiculous.

Think about it. Doing this would set a precedent for every person who "made a mistake" because they bought a phone and then decided they wanted the latest and greatest. The envTouch as far as I know is a solid device. They will just replace it with another one.
Trust me. I've thought about it, and also worked warranty for ATT and we used to call it the 2 strike policy. If you had to replace a phone twice ...
Question about the warranty process.
I made the huge mistake of getting the ENV Touch as my upgrade phone a few months back. I had to replace it once within the first 30 days because the hinge was loose. Now a couple months later the touch screen started acting weird and is now not working at all.
Anyway, my question...
What are the chances I will be able to get Verizon to send me a completely different phone, since I've been having horrible luck with the ...
Re: Using Sounds for Ringtones - There LOUD!
damn links didn't work....Anyway, you can download some loud classic T.V. show themes from that website and put them on the phone.

It is louder than any of the ringtones that I've payed for through VZW. I felt ripped off after purchasing one of the songs I had on my previous phone and its 1/3 of the volume on this damn thing...
Question on music.
When syncing music onto the phone from a computer, does it have to be songs purchased off Rhapsody? Or can it be songs burned off of a cd I bought?....Songs downloaded :paranoid: illegally???
I'm assuming it needs to be at least files that are copyright protected to avoid any kinds of piracy shinanigans and what have yous.
This is probably a stupid question, but I have not even hooked the phone up to a computer yet. ...
Re: Loose Hinge...
I ordered mine online and you can get a swap for a new one within the first 30 days if there are any defects.
If you got it from a cor store they should be able to replace it aswell if its within the first 30 days of purchase...If they dont call customer service and ask them if they can do anything.
Re: Loose Hinge...
I just got a new touch in the mail and it DOES NOT have the same problem with the loose hinge, thank god...
So it seems I just got a bad one. I love this phone by the way!
Loose Hinge...
I just got my ENV Touch yesterday... I'm happy with it so far, but the hinge on the microphone end of the phone seems kinda loose.
I upgraded from the original ENV and that phone seems to have the same problem, but I cant remember if it had that problem since day one or if it just happened over time.
Is this a general problem with the way this phone was manufactured or do I need to get it replaced with ...
Re: Question regarding sending pics from an e-mail address to cell.
That worked. Thanks for your help, man!
Question regarding sending pics from an e-mail address to cell.
Is it possible to send a picture to your cell phone via an e-mail account on a computer?
Ive tried attaching a .jpg to a message and sending it to 555-555-5555@vtext.com but it doesn't work. I get the text, but no picture.
Do I need to convert the pic to something besides a .jpg first? Is this even possible?
Any answers are appreciated! :D
Re: it really makes the lounge
Yeah...Ive never been much for the lounge in the first place. I lurk in there every once and awhile, but rarely post. Shoptalk has just dried up so much recently you can go days without reading an interesting post.
Re: and let's not even start
Yeah...Makes me want to throw up in my mouth a little every time I go in there.
I have enough problems in my own life, I dont need to bitch about mine to strangers or listen to them bitch about theirs. They all need to get a life and stop being so pathetic.

Re: DON'T DO IT!
Yeah, it really sucks. I work warranty and ever since they started selling tons of refurb phones we have been getting bombarded with pissed off customers with out of warranty phones because they crap out after 90 days. None of them have any idea that the phone didnt have a year warranty on them because everyone (including the website) neglects to tell them.
I'm really starting to hate working for at&t...
:(
Re: Refurbished Phones
Yeah, its at&t being cheap/greedy, selling phones that other people already paid for and had problems with...
Re: Refurbished Phones
They would be the same phones you get through INS....That are supposed to be "like new". I personaly wouldnt trust them tho. They also only come with a 90 day warranty (Its hard to find that info on the site and most people dont know that, but its true). Suck it up and just buy a new one and I'm sure you will be glad you did.
