Loose Hinge...

Jun 24, 2009, 1:22 PM
I just got my ENV Touch yesterday... I'm happy with it so far, but the hinge on the microphone end of the phone seems kinda loose.

I upgraded from the original ENV and that phone seems to have the same problem, but I cant remember if it had that problem since day one or if it just happened over time.

Is this a general problem with the way this phone was manufactured or do I need to get it replaced with a new one???... Its not REALLY bad just barely noticable, but I would think a brand new phone should be solid and not have any loose hinges...

Thanks ahead of time for any responses! 😎

I had the Env2 before this and had that problem with one of the Env2's I had.. I traded it in and got a new one and didn't have that problem again. I got the EnV touch a few days ago and I haven't noticed bad hinges. Maybe take it in and try for a new one.

I just got a new touch in the mail and it DOES NOT have the same problem with the loose hinge, thank god...

So it seems I just got a bad one. I love this phone by the way!

How did you get them to mail you a new one?

I have the same problem with the lower hinge. I took it to my local store and they looked at me like I was crazy, refusing to swap it out.

Mine had the same hinge problem. It also kept rebooting. Tell them it keeps rebooting and they will give you a new one. My new one had a tighter hinge in the beginning, but it's loosening up the more I use it. I guess I'll just live with it. The phone is great in all other aspects.

I ordered mine online and you can get a swap for a new one within the first 30 days if there are any defects.

If you got it from a cor store they should be able to replace it aswell if its within the first 30 days of purchase...If they dont call customer service and ask them if they can do anything.
