Perhaps you need to recheck your numbers. There is no $100 12GB data plan. What you are refering too is the $80 data plan that gives you 10GB's of data with the $20 Mobile Hotspot feature that gives you 2GB's of data for a total of 12GB's of data to be used either on your phone or as a Hotspot. You can add the $20 hotspot feature to any of the data plans to add another 2GB's of data ...

an ugly design in my opinion. The angled corners just dont do it for me. I'll be a bit jealous of people using the phone but i just can't see myself carrying that ugly thing around. :P

This is one of those things that you say to yourself "why didnt I think of that". This could possibly be my next device depending on the specs of both devices. With the solid build of Asus products somethig like this could be the item of the year to have. :-)...

Agreed. I love how the WebOS works. Swiping your apps off the screen is pretty cool. I would consider using a WebOS phone if there were a better selection of apps like the ones i use now on my Droid X. Hopefully more developers start creating more apps for this OS. It does have a lot of potential to be a really great platform.
The only thing that is interesting....
is the fact that the Headline uses the word Scuttlebutt. :lol:

I don't quite get why people feel the need to talk bad about a great product that will help alot of people out with their cell service. In most cases, the reason someone would need something like this is because none of the carriers can get great service to this customer's home. In my opinion a customer will choose a carrier that works well where they live. If none of the carriers can do this for a customer, then ...

this is quite interesting. I wonder if Apple is doing this in anticipation of the Samsung Tab which should be released next month. As far as Verizon carrying the iphone, i recently read an interview with Verizon's CEO and he said that we won't be expecting a Verizon Wireless iPhone anytime soon if at all. But with the popularity of the Android OS steadily climbing, i'm sure Apple is going to do whatever they can to compete with google ...

It's because they can buy the phones at at much lower cost than most authorized retailers can. So they are still able to make some kind of profit off these devices, plus i don't think the mobile employees do not make commission. I'm pretty sure they are hourly.

Actually the phone is the property of Verizon Wireless before you buy it and they can preload whatever they want on it. So no, they are not trespassing on your property. Some people want an Android phone but prefer Bing as their search engine, some people prefer Google. Now everyone will have the choice. If you don't like Bing then don't use it. Seem's like wasted energy to get mad about something that you have the choice to either ...

Pushed back til September?
I was just told by a couple of people that the Droid update has now been pushed back til September because of some bugs in the update. Can anyone confirm this?
I did a little time....
A couple of years ago I had to do a couple months in my local county jail for a bar fight i was involved in. One of the other inmates that was on work release smuggled in a Samsung Juke by shoving it up his arse. He was charging other inmates to let them use it to text thier friends and wives. He made a decent amount of cash before he was finally caught.

Just to clarify, it was never illegal before now for a prisoner to have a cell phone. Once a prisoner is sentenced and turned over that that state's Department of Corrections that prisoner then had to follow the policies of that particular prison. Basically prison is like it's own country with it's own policies about prisoner contra-band. If that particular prison does not allow prisoners to have cell phones or any type of contra-band they then have the right ...

I'm not sure why people bitch about what a beta can and can't do. Calm down people. I'm sure certain issues will be improved on. Just because a beta doesnt immediatley function the way that you want it to doesnt mean that eventualy it wont work that way with improvements.

I've always felt the same way about Motorola products until i got my Motorola Droid. It's an amazing phone.
Google maps makes me wish...
that i had never sold my Tom Tom on eBay. Google maps is ok but it's taken me on the wrong route a number of times. I never once got lost or was mislead using my tom tom. I've never used Telenav before so i can't say how good that is but damn Google, do something about your turn by turn directions.
