If this is only for Verizon's Smartphone lineup or for any data capable phone? Will they still have the $10 option for the 3G Multimedia phones?

This will add a tier to the smartphones. 9.99 for 25MB, 14.99 for 150MB and 29.99 for unlimited, I think.

Yes it will. It's just a cheaper option for people who want a smartphone and dont want to pay $30 for unlimited.

Fixt.

Many, many people DO live in WiFi bubbles, you know. I'm one of them. Options are good.

I don't have a clue what you mean by "many".
Personally I don't feel like being a prisoner to a short range wifi network. I prefer mobility.

You, sir, are welcome to pay for it. I won't stop you.

I own a home, and I have a toddler who would sit on the PC and watch Thomas the Tank Engine on youtube all day long if I would let him. As such (and for countless other reasons),I have to pay for a DSL line anyway, so I'd like to have the option to lean off of the 3G network and save some money doing it.

You single folks are a completely different demographic. You have different needs than I do. You aren't 100% responsible for the life and lifestyle of another human being. I live in a di...

I feel ya cell student. I use a blackberry and rarely go over 25000K. 150K is more than enough for me, and I am always on my phone! I just dont do data intensive activities. Its all about how you use your phone and how you use wifi networks around you.

Wireless carriers !!DON'T!! care what is nothing on smartphones, they will still offer the equivalent of nothing, and charge for the equivalent of nothing.

Once LTE plans are announced that will probably be an inadequate amount of data for what LTE speeds are capable of delivering, like video in the amount of 35GB's/mo. That's how much I used when I had Clear.

It will go away, it won't be required. If they want data, it will be the same as smartphones. 9.99 plan will go away. Tablet pricing will be 1GB for 20.00 3GB for 35.00 4GB for 45.00 and 5GB for 50.00. If you go over, its 10.00 per GB. Also, something else is going to be like 10GB for 80.00. I forgot what tho.
