Verizon Wireless' Network Extender Adds 3G Data

3G is a non-issue

Adding 3G to these is kind of useless at this point, I think. Pretty much any place you would install one of these already has a WiFi router, and any handset needing 3G data speeds these days also has a WiFi antenna in it. Why bother deploying a second, inferior data stream on top of WiFi?

Nice idea, 5 years behind the curve.

Now, if we can just get feasible LTE femtocells off the ground! That would actually matter.

Verizon is good, but try to get a signal in a downtown below ground office under a 70 story building. This will help greatly..

I've been with Verizon for8 months, and I do get dropped calls, and my data does drop from3G to 1x. And this is all on what is **supposedly** "America's Most Reliable 3G Network"

It's no better, or no worse than AT&T was. AT&T actually stayed on 3...

Actually, this is an ideal solution for a person like me:

Verizon gets terrible service in my apartment (I haven't tried the other carriers here yet).
Sprint is nonexistent in my mother's house.
AT&T is very flaky at my sister's house.
T-Mobile ...
