Games on the 8600

So I recently(yesterday) switched from the craptastic cingular to Verizon. I had verizon before cingular, and I don't know why I ever switched, but I'm back.

Anyway, I got Bitpim and the cable, and have taken care of my ringtones, and wallpapers/photos. But I was wondering what does everyone do about games for the phone. I looked through all the pages here and didn't see anything about it.

Thanks for your responses in advance.

Navigator exits when flip is closed

I am used to having Navigator run and display on the outside LCD when I had a RAZR, today I tried Navigator with my VX8600 and when I closed the phone it exited Navigator. I also could not make or receive calls without Navigator exiting. Is this normal and if so, can it be fixed?

BitPim Transfer--Sorry if this already has been asked!

With data cable in hand, I am hesitant to try BitPim with this phone to transer my ringtones and wallpapers. (No, I do not have a Bluetooth device.) I have heard/read conflicting reports: Verizon has disabled the ability to use BitPim with the 8600, BitPim will not work with the 8600. BitPim will work with the 8600 if I list the phone as an 8500.
So--has anyone used BitPim to transfer to this phone? And . . . ?
(I keep telling myself that if I blow something with it, it is under warranty. Still . . .
Thanks, all! And Happy Thanksgiving!

OK this is all pretty much new to me.

Into music sounds folder (only 3 pop up 1) pict 2) music 3) video) Can see mp3 in sounds but cannot put into ringtones. Tried with cable but bitpim does not see phone (even using 8500 settings) I' m at a loss. I don't want to spend more money than I already have. Any help would be DEEPLY APPECIATED.........

speaker phone vs. earpiece

Is it possible to hear my voice memos and Vcast videos through the bluetooth earpiece? I cannot figure out how to do it. The sound always comes out of the speakerpone which is terrible quality and of course no privacy. I could do it with my old audiovox phone so I am quite dissapointed so far.

Also..is there an online manual available? All I have found is the quick reference guide. Thx.

MicroSD card

Do you need an MicroSD card to put in mp3 files to use for ringtones? Maybe this is the problem with the phone nor recognizing the mp3 files to put into ringtone....

Battery Life

Okay, I have discovered how to make the 8600 standard battery last a VERY long time between rechargings. Like the manual says, charge the battery fully before using it for the first time. Do not let the store activate the phone for you. Take the phone home and fully charge the battery with the phone off. Then activate your phone. The VZW store activated my phone and the battery drained fast, so I bought a new battery and fully charged it before using it at all, and now my new battery lasts for three or four days of heavy use before I have to charge it again

Way to keep the may screen from turning completely off?

In my old VX8100 the backlight was always on at a very low level so the main screen was always visible, even during a lengthy call. Is there an option to keep the backlight from turning completely off? I only found the options for the duration of full backlight power (5 sec, 10 sec, etc.).

Thanks in advance...

Sensitivity

Is there any way besides using what is available in the settings menu to further desinsitize the main keypad? Many times when dialing a number more than the number you choose comes up because unlike regular buttons this phone has really no separations on the keypad.

Just got it

Hi,

I just got the phone today, so far I like it a lot. When I flip open the phone, I heard a buzzing sound while the backlight is still on. Once the light is gone, the buzzing sound is gone too. Does anyone has the same problem?

Also, what does the EV and 1X stand for at the upper left?

Thanks!

Screen size

I'm thinking about buying this phone at full retail (250 right?) and I was wondering a few things. How big is the internal screen display compared to the 8300? Also, do you think this phone would be a phone that you could keep for a while?
