First Impressions 8600

I ordered the phone from cust. svc and it arrived yesterday. Here are my early impressions:
-Nice build quality. Nice heft and feel.
-Shiny, so it does get fingerprints and faceprints on the screen.
-3 screen themes, which basically only change the ways the menus appear. No red bars.
-Fair ringtones, but I downloaded some from VZW and am quite impressed at how they sound. Very adequate loudness. Vibrates while ringing if you want.
-Pushing the * button puts the phone in vibrate mode. Nice.
-Buttons are not individualized, but rather push areas on a metal plate. They are smaller than I would have liked, but even with my large hands, I have not had trouble. If I hold it in one hand, dialing is comfortable using the nail part of my thumb....

8600

I have seen and played with a working demo of this phone. It is the best looking phone I have seen from Verizon in the 6 years I have worked here.

Micro card software

I am definitely getting one of these new phones this week. The question I have is, do I have to buy the music essentials software to play music on this phone, or can I just download music from my PC to the card, put it in the phone, and it plays? I have the kit from the 8300 I have now, but told it's a different USB cord. Also has anyone tried the wireless stereo headphones with it. Thinking about buying those too. Any comments would be appreciated.

Released?

I am a bit confused. I have been reading about how some people already have this phone. Some say it is coming out Nov15th. I talked to verizon customer service and went my local verizon store and they had not heard of the phone. Customer service said the phone is in the system but is not yet available and is not showing a release date. How do people already have this phone and where did they get the release date from. Any ideas?!?! I really want this phone.

Is 8600 best choice for small new phone from Verizon?

It's time for me to get a new phone -- I've got the ancient Motorola 120e and the lack of a good predictive text function and dictionary is driving me batty.

Mostly, I want a phone with decent battery life (at least as good as my 120e, I'm not hard to please...), good text msging, nice loud voice quality and few to no dropped calls. I'm also looking for a slim/small profile.

I don't really care about much else; I've been putting off choosing for ages b/c I don't like ANY of the Verizon phones available right now. People are saying to wait for this LG 8600. Would you guys agree? It seems like there isn't anything really great right now at Verizon.

Thanks for the advice/feedback!

(I was debating between:
-Samsung SCH-A930 (Ug...

November 15th official launch

The phone will be available both on-line, and in stores on 11/15. The stores in my area have the phone, but are not allowed to show until release date. One of the stores did show me a dummy model... Looks pretty nice.

PLAYED WITH 8600 TODAY

Hi all,
I went today to the store that I am good friends with the manager, and they let me play with the new phone. Not a dummy a real one although not activated. My feelings and I am a big LG fan. I have had them all from the first one the 510 VX1 VX10 6000,7000,8000, to now using 8100.
Here are my thoughts and impressions. The phone is cool looking, Speaker phone is the absolute worst I have ever heard. The buttons are flat some people will like I didn't. When the phone is open it is longer than the 8000 so if you thought that phone was big this is bigger. The menu had 3 choices, the camera was good no delay. Finger prints galore just like the chocolate. It was very difficult to open with one hand by flipping with your thumb. This is big f...

Darn,
If this only had an FM radio then I would be happy to stay with Verizon Wireless.
