speaker phone????

I have read many a thread involving speaker phone and from what I can gather with my 8600 I am to wait until the call is started and then press the button above the camera button to turn on the speaker phone ability.

Mine doesn't do this. Once the call is started I press and hold the top right button on the side of my 8600 it says "recording" and I can here no sounds from the other end through the speaker.

From what I understand the speaker phone was so crappy that I am wondering if LG has removed this functionality from new units. Which is perfectly legal for them to do cause the manual and specs say NOTHING about a speaker phone.

HELP! or should I just buy a handsfree Blue tooth unit for my car.

External screen issued

My external screen is messed up. It started happening like a week ago. When I have it closed and I hit the side key to check the time, it looks like everything has been stretched out and then ripped apart by each individual line. And then, on the far right, there is a bar that clearly shows, so it looks like it should, the red powering up screen. It is always there. Then, when I open it, the Verizon logo has also been spaced out, so there is a line in between all the color ones and it has also been stretched out. Any ideas on how to fox this?

Internal antenna suddenly not working.

I travel a lot, and needed an external antenna to get a signal in some remote areas. After hooking my AX8600 to my external antenna, it now will not receive a signal without being hooked to the external antenna in my truck. Alltel rep says it's the phone....get a new one. I just spent $300 getting the external antenna setup, etc. put in my truck. Is it software or a manual switch that switches between external and internal antennas? Anyone? Any help is appreciated. For now at home, I had to break out my old crappy razor v3c to use till I get my LG working again.

Edit or delete Quick Text

Anyone know how to edit or delete entries in Quick Text?

I've figured out how to add entries -- but not how to delete ones I don't want, or edit existing ones.

Thanks for any help.

MicroSD problem

Hey, I just got my 8600 and a 1gb microSD thing. I added some music to the card on my computer then inserted it into the side of the phone. I can't seem to get the music onto my phone I'm not exacly sure what I did wrong, but also I can't get the card back out lol. Maybe I jammed it in too far? It seemed to slide in fine so I didnt think I was pushing it too far.

R.I.P., old friend....

đŸ˜ĸ

I loved you very much... but you've been replaced...

by a Chocolate 3 (which is actually a Chocolate 4, cause the 8600 was actually a flip Chocolate, too...)

VX-8600 Randomly Shutting Off

Hi,

I'm wondering if anybody has any ideas...Recently my VX8600 has been randomly shutting down even though it has battery charge. Sometimes it occurs after closing the phone post-texting somebody, and other times it just powers down while in my pocket. Each time when I power it back up, there are no issues.

Anybody experience something similar?

I would like to know how to use my phone on my computer similar to the way bluetooth works in car. I'd like to talk using my microphone and listen out of my speaker/headphones on my computer. I have the IOGear Bluetooth USB adapter. Is this possible? Thanks.

Entry mode in mobile AIM, MSN, and Yahoo

I can't figure out for the life of me how to change the entry mode on mobile. I hate the default abc setting, I much prefer Word, it is much faster and I have a bunch of words I have already entered in there. If anyone can tell me how to do this I would much appreciate it, that is if anyone has figured it out. (I have a buddy who works at Verizon and he hasn't been able to figure it out)

number on front display

Is there a way to get the incoming number to display on the front display. By openning the phone I answer the call. I know I can turn that off. However, I would prefer to be able to discretely pull the phone out of my pocket, look at the caller, and determine if I should take the call.

Thanks

Secret menu

Good morning everyone. I have a question. Verizon recently send me a old beat up replacement for this phone, (I think my old cell phone looks better then the replacement). They send me a cell phone with the software version T86VZV03 and now I cant access the secret menu by clicking 00000. Does anybody know if verizon block this or what is the deal with it; or how can I access it? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou and have a great day and weekend.

VX 8600 and TomTom GPS

I just got a TomTom GPS for Xmas and I'm having trouble with one of the features. You can use your GPS as a speaker phone, and you're supposed to be able to export your phone's directory to the GPS, but when I try doing it I get the message on the GPS that it can't connect to my phone directory.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Or is that one of those features that VZW turns off?

TIA
