voicemail concern

😲 Hi, When I used to check my voicemail it gave me the time/date and "callback" number so that I would have the phone number, now the callback number does not come on anymore, yet it still does on my daughters phone, anyone know why this would occur? I have been on the phone with Verizon for weeks and no one can seem to resolve this.

Using through Aux-In Truck Stereo

I went and bought the cheap adapter so I can listen to music from my 8600 through my Truck radio- and boy does it sound great 🤤 . However, I got the bright idea that it's cool that I can listen to a call through my truck speakers. However, since I'm using an adapter that plugs into the 3.5mm spot on the adapter that plugs into my 8600, it treats it as a headset, and therefore doesn't hear me (I tested by calling my voicemail and tried to record a new personal greeting).

I didn't try speakerphone yet 👀 . Just dawned on me that it might work that way. If not, is there a way to use my phone in a handsfree format through my Aux-In on the truck stereo unit? Thanks ahead of time.

8600 & Bluetooth hands free kit in car. Help!!!!

I have the VX8600 and a Parrot BT-E500 hands free car kit connected to an Eclipse AVN5510 in my car. I've been trying to transfer my contacts to the in car unit but cannot. I have the phone and the hands free kit paired and I am able to make calls via the hands free kit if I use the manual controls. In order to be totally hands free I need to transfer the contacts over.

The problem is that when I try doing so I get a message that it isn't supported by the phone. It sees the hands free kit, the hands free kit sees it....everything else works but not being able to transfer the contacts over is driving me nuts.

Help please.....

Reception

So, for those of you who own the LG VX-8600, how is the reception? I was originally going to get the LG VX-8600 until I heard the LG VX-8700 was coming out.

I bought the 8700 a few weeks ago but quickly returned it because the reception was so bad. I either couldn't get a signal in the rural areas where I was used to getting one or I would drop calls pretty frequently due to the lack of signal. I even tried another phone, but it didn't help.

A customer service representative said that poor reception was a common issue with the 8700 and may be due to the metal casing. Before I purchase the LG VX-8600, I'd like to know if its reception is any better, especially since it doesn't have the metal casing.

Thanks...

battery charge life

I've had my 8600 since late March of this year and I'm starting to find that battery charge life is shortening already.
Is that to be expected after a bit over 6 months?

A warning about the charging port

I had to get another phone because the charging port got mangled...if you are not careful to slide it in carefully (it is hard to do since it doesn't "click" in)it will be mangled so that it won't work anymore...I found out by going to Verizon that it isn't covered by the warrenty either...I ended up getting a pink Razor (against my better judgement, have heard SO many horror stories)with a better charging port...even though I loved the LG phone, didn't want to go to another one because the charging port is the same...

BTW--my techie hubby was able to fix it anyway, so I then just passed it on to my 14 year old son...

8600 Discontinued?

It still seems like this phone just came out yesterday to me but apparently Verizon has pulled this phone off of its website and I've read over on hofo that the 8600 has been discontinued.

Will there be another phone in the line of 8600's maybe a lg vx8650 down the line? or is the 8700 gonna be the official replacement?

I hope theres another one i like being able to read the texts messages with the flip closed, and has more bluetooth features enabled like the file transfer from phone to phone like the 8700 has.

are there any other known future LG's on verizon's horizon?

Screen turns white when receiving a call or opening it.

Last week or so a weird bug creaped up on my 8600. When I receive a call, the outer display turns white instead of showing the number or wallpaper. When I open the phone at that point, the inside screen is white too.

I can see the actual wallpaper just barely through the "white haze".
Its like someone maxed out the contrast and brightness on your tv.

Now, if I close the flip and open it again, it usually fixes itself.

Then I noticed that if I just open the flip to say make a call, the screen randomly turns white too.

First the hinge creak'n and now this, this phone is going back.

Anyone having this problem?

Simple Questions

I just got my new LG 8600 yesterday and love it.

Although though there are some questions:

- I transfered some MP3 songs through the Micro SD card from my computer to the phone. When I insert the Micro SD card into the phone, I can play the music fine. However I was not able to "move" or "copy" the songs from the SD card to my phone. A msg popped up & stated that "unable to transfer this type of file". But it was a MP3 file. What's up with that?

- Also, the phone should support WMA files right? But the WMA files that I put in the SD card would not show up on my phone, why is that? (the songs' names are very short)

thanks.

Copy Cats

So… anyone notice that the new Motorola RAZR 2 looks exactly like LG VX-8600. Copying the smooth profile instead of having the old Razr bottom lip.

LG = https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p =999
Motorola = https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p =1243

And on that note, did anyone notice that the new LG VX-8700, looks just like the old Razr. Copying the bottom lip and silver finish.

Doesn’t anyone have any original styling ideas anymore???

Protection/Fingerprints

Right now on the top side/outerdisplay side of the phone i have the original dust jacket/sticker that came with the phone. I left it on because of the fingerprints that are left on the phone, with the jacket on it looks clean and keeps it's shine...however, after a month it's starting to lose it's stick. any suggestions for a cover or protector to keep fingerprints off of the top side of the phone?

Ringtones using memory card.

Sorry if this has been posted but there seems to be a few threads about getting ringtones on the phone. I have Alltel so I do not know if it works with Verizon but it should. There is a way to put ringtones on your phone without usinga cable bluetooth or email. IF you have an SD card adapter for your computer and any songs you want to use as a ringtone or alert, when you open the LG Media folder up, put those files the other sounds folder, not the music folder. When you put your microSD card back into your phone all the songs or tunes you put in the other sounds folder will show up in the downloaded folder, copy them to your phone and then you can set them.
